sounds like you have hit the nail on the head, so if you are correct that should give approx 500mm (give or take) distance between the worktop & wall units
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Could it be that you have been supplied 900mm wall units with the smaller larder unit which should only be used with their 720mm wall units?

I'll try and do some pics when i get home later. I didmean the coving at the join between the ceiling and wall btw.

i'll measure everything at least and post it, cant at the mo i'm in work.

    Thanks

    Right i'm home.
the floor to ceiling height is 2.410.
The tall oven housing is 2.120 inc 50mm cornice off the floor.
floor to top of worktop is .920.
worktop to u/s of wall unit inc pelmet is .400
Wall units are 800mm inc (100mm pelmet & cornice)
Hob is 50mm high off the worktop (to top of burner rings).
Gap between wall units is 700mm
    Hob is 700mm wide.

This leaves 350mm from top of burner rings to u/s of cupboard pelmet and the sides of the wall units are in line with the outer edge of the hob.

i'm trying to download a pic but not succeeding at the mo my card readers at work.

God you must be as fed up with this as i am!
But thanks for helping it is appreciated.

    Thank you.

Although the measurements you've given seem a tad out of whack its not that far enough away not to persuade me that suspicions were correct and they have supplied you with a Standard Oven Housing. A Tall Oven Housing would give you an extra 180mm to play with on the height of the wall cabs which I think should be 720 ex cornice and pelmet rather than 700 as you suggest.

The standard housing is 2070mm high including legs which when you include the cornice makes it 2120 as you have measured. The tall housing is 2250mm high including legs. (I checked these today).

Having said that there is still something not quite right but including the tall cab and lifting the wall cabs up the wall means you do not have to mess about with the hob area.

Incidentally the worktop height above the floor at 920mm seems rather high to me particularly when you factor in an extra 50mm for the hob. Hope standing at the hob for any period doesn't instigate backache.

I think you should therefore run it past the second surveyor you said is coming this week that you want the taller oven housing and all wall cabinets moved up the wall appropriately. Actually see if he works it out first.

Great ta, i'll wait and see when he comes.
The base units are a little high because i need to make up 20mm to match an existing floor, i knew about that.

    Thanks

Cheers everyone, there's a new Surveyor coming out on Thursday evening to discuss. But if i change the 900 (600 & 300 doors) unit on the right for an 800 (2 x 400 doors) and the 500 (2 x 250 doors on the left for a 400 (2 x 200 doors but joined together so they open as one door on a 400 unit then it'll work, but i'll want a 900 hood so it looks right and compo for all the hassle.
I'll see what he suggests .

I'll post the result on Thursday.

Look forward to it. :) In reality I suspect the best you can hope for is that they fix it sans additional compensation.

Pssst - You didn't get round to posting that pic so the rest of your post is double dutch to me to be honest. ;)

    Cheers
