  • Rising - another big (((hug))) for you hun. You must be going a bit stir crazy by now, a change of scene next week will do you a power of good.

Lovely pic of Maisie, she's adorable (and I'm not a dog person at all). I bet she'll be soooo pleased to see you next week and vice versa.

Take care and hope you're starting to feel a bit better? x

Awwwww thanks Spoon all (((hugs))) gratefully received :). Getting there ...... slowly but surely. It's amazing how quickly the stuffing can be knocked out of you (and think I may have overdone it a bit with my brief trip out yesterday as haven't been able to do much at all today:o) but I'll get there.

Def looking forward to a change of scene & some Maisie cuddles :)

I think where I have gone wrong is food and fuel should be included in my monthly outgoings... Then... I put aside an amount of pocket money I don't want to spend over... By jingo I think I got it LOL!!!

:D I do like the pocket money idea .... I've never really had anything like that in my budget (too tight and TBH still is) as the Sky / massage were always my treats ..... however, now I've given up smoking I might have to revisit this;)

I was going to stick the money away in a pot for something special but as I've still got this OD to clear and as the smoking was never included in my SOA (which doesn't have a lot of spare cash in it still), I can't do this just now ..... but £5 / week maybe ....:)
Junior cat, (aged 7 months) however, caught a bird yesterday. Her very first. Trouble is, it was a pigeon as big as she is. She presented it to OH in the kitchen - how the hell did she haul that ruddy great thing through the catflap???? Judging by the scenes of carnage on the patio (like a massacre in a pillow factory) it seems the creature landed on the patio for a breather and a little black puddy tat was a-waiting.....

I remember senior cat (aged nearly 4) once bringing a bird into the kitchen. It wasn't dead, though, and OH then chased it round the kitchen and released it back into the wild. Big tart of a cat has never tried it since.

:rotfl:Did chuckle at this Nargle ...... at least it wasn't a live rabbit which has been known to happen here if the back door's left open in the summer!

One of the reasons I've always resisted a cat flap - I can only imagine coming home to a number of *things* in the house (came home to 14 mice lined up at the back door which was bad enough:eek:) and wee cat especially brings live things in:eek:

IF lovely to see you back:)

  • Thanks everyone for the tips...

Just to clarify - I meant - does anyone give themselves 'pocket money' - money that is theirs to spend guilt free on anything...? Wondering what (if people do) give themselves per week or per month...

When I commenced my DMP they set aside money for everything from magazines to clothes to entertainment... So there is an expectation that these things are a part of your life - even if you're in debt... What I ended up doing was lumping a lot of this money into repaying extra, until actually - the only definite things I do put money aside for (besides bills etc) is food and fuel each month...

    :T

No,I don't really have pocket money.I don't 'need' it.What spends do you have in mind?If I want to get something like a magazine (once every few months)I might use my grocery budget money,or any money left over from the week before or any excess money in my budget as I put in more than I use every month.I bought a magazine about a month ago and still haven't looked at it.:o

As for entertainment,I don't really socialise much at all.I don't go to pubs or cafes.I maybe go to two concerts a year.I have two magazines on subscription.

I do treat myself to second hand books on @mazon quite frequently and pay by cc every month.I have also got a budget for this too- recent addition to try and stop me spending too much.:D

I don't know any of this helps.I didn't understand the rest of what you were saying tbh.Hopefully someone else will be along soon.

nargle I see that you have a wee cat with great ambitions!:eek:I take it that the pigeon was an ex-pigeon?Poor thing.
It makes me glad that my wee minx is a house cat.

    14 mice!

When I was growing up we took in a lovely stray cat and soon found out she was pregnant. She went on have a litter of four and was a very good provider/hunter for the kittens.Anyway she liked to have ready supplies to hand.Once she dragged a dead, adult rabbit up through the open top window of my bedroom and 'stored' it under my bed!:(

Hee hee - reminds me of my friend's cat who was adept at catching all sort of wildlife, but preferred to eat it fresh.......cue coming home to a bathful of rodents (she knew they couldn't get out) Eugh!

Mine are a little more "sophisticated" and I know of at least 2 previous neighbours who have lost part of their breakfast as they've stolen their cooked sausages.

Still, the moths are still safe with NSD 10 and 10 in a row:j
