Thanks WTB ...... thanks for noticing my avatar, I have to say, it makes me smile everytime I log in - that's Benand I think we were "each others" if that makes any sort of sense .... very sadly he's not around anymore
but on a brighter note, I do now have Maisie (as well as the cats) to keep me company.
Hope no-one minds a wee pic as feeling a bit lonely as she's at DMs just now while I'm not well - and I'm missing her loads:
Rising, I loved your picture of Maisie. She is beautiful.
I thought I'd share my babies with you.Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -

Well.......not gorgeous at the moment as they are rolling around the floor "playing" and making a right ole racket :rotfl:
The little one is only 16 weeks old and already a handful  and seems to have sent the older one back to her puppy youth
I hope you enjoy your time with Maisie as I can imagine how much you must be missing herShe'll be a real tonic for you, they do say having an animal reduces stress and anxiety etc but right at this moment I can't see it myself :rotfl:

Morning everyone! Well i'm not doing very well with the NSD challenge :-( Its much more difficult than I thought, but I think its as this is my first month and I need to plan ahead better!
Can I ask, do people count petrol as a spend, or treat it like a direct debit/essential bill and not count it as a spend? xxNov NSD: 8/7 Dec NSD: 1/10Sealed pot member #1443 2011: £106. 2012: £171Ninjakat challenge: Aim to clear two debts by April 2013100 day challenge: No toiletries or magazines 19/100 (3 x fails)

Personally, I don't count it as a spend.
Reason = 18 mile round trip to the nearest fuel station so I frequently top up my tank if I happen to be passing one rather than risk running low and wasting 18 miles fuel having to specifically go and get some .... not losing a NSD for that as it is more :money:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Hi thereI've included petrol into my essential spends. I drive over 400 miles a week for work so it's pretty essential to me haha.
Everyone's challenges will be individual to them, I've even included Christmas present buying in mine. Personally mine is to cut out the silly little pointless spends that fritter my hard earned away. I have a budget for groceries and if it's a shopping day and I go over that then I've blown that NSD.
I hope that helps and good luck!xx
Hi, my name's Katy and I'm a (former) spendaholic! :wave:NSD - November Challenge - 7/105/11/12 - 7 Weeks to Christmas Weight Loss Challenge! 2/140 -

I don't count diesel as long as I stay within my budget.
The way I work my NSDs is that I have a weekly budget, if I stay within that budget then it is an NSD and if I go over it then I have blown my NSDs until the next week. It has worked for me so far and is helping manage my money much better.
I understand that people want to save as much money as they can but for me it is all about paying my debts and managing my money as best I can. After all, we all need to live our lives.Free by FiftyDebt of the Moment -August NSD Challenge 14/150 -
Those lasts posts helped me clarify how people manage spends/groceries/petrol etc so THANKS!!!
Since starting the NSD challenges I have changed it a few times...
I have money aside for petrol... regular bills... and my current NSD pledge of £20.00/wk is for groceries primarily... I am doing the NOvember challenge (aiming for 25 NSD) so I have 5 spend days effectively and have put aside £10 per day as spends... which i can use for drinks with friends/dates/clothes/books etc...
Does anyone pay themselves a wage to spend on other things... or do people just see what's left at the end of the month and use that? Am never sure what is a 'reasonable' amount to spend... Have been saving and really getting into the debt clearing and now every penny am loathe to spend on anything but debts... That can't be healthy lol... Would welcome any advice...
:-)

Right I'm going to add Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as non-spend days. This should take my total to 4 I will not have any this weekend as I've got to go food shopping and celebrate OH birthday. My next challenge is to post every day even if its a spendy day0
