    Morning everyone

Seeing all the cat stories reminded me of my two horrors...

First cat's crowing glory:eek: was a baby rabbit (live) which he brought into the kitchen while I was out at work.... I arrived home to the delights of bits of rabbit and blood all over the kitchen and pud sitting in the middle with a pair of ears which he proudly presented to me

Second cat wasn't quite so good at catching live things but he loved clean washing - and not always mine  I warned all the neighbours about his fetish after arriving home one evening to find pud asleep on the doormat firmly entangled in someones else's bra. Neighbour had been taking her washing off the line when her phone rang, she went inside and pud took advantage of a nice pile of freshly sun-dried washing. He scarpered when neighbour came outside again but got himself entangled in his haste to escape...... and the rest of her washing ended up on the ground...
:) The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time :)

  • Hi all,

I've just been way too busy at work to check in over the past week but pleased to report that I'm up to 8 nsds now. Hoping for another one today but it's too early for me to declare at the moment.

Hi All - checking in to report 2 NSD's please. We went to a wedding yesterday so no spends there & today am at home with Beef in Beer in the slow cooker for tonight (DH LOVES casseroles) I'm also doing Rhubarb in Ginger Wine (got loads in the freezer) for pud.
Reading all the pusscat stories & having a good chuckle. I've had cats for many years & they are all characters.
Puss I - used to catch birds & store them in the baby bath under the cot yuck!
The funniest was when i saw her walking down the garden path & every few steps she's skid her bum on the path. I went out to see what was up & realised she'd managed to pinch a piece of string off the Sunday joint - it had gone through her system but got stuck on the knot!! Quick donning of the rubber gloves and a sharp tug - yelp & dirty look from puss as she stalked off & me crying with laughter

Current puss sits in my wall basket watching the birds but she's useless at catching (thank goodness - don't want the bird population decimated) she just looks so funny especially as she peeps over the wall - must look like Chad from the neighbours side ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle
  • Wow, I'm really liking the frank discussion around what does and doesn't count as a NSD. Maybe next month I'll change mine to spends that are a) unnecessary and b) on me! Because this weekend we did nothing and went nowhere, but DD2, who is still a baby, got sick. So Saturday was a doctor's fee and a prescription for antibiotics, and Sunday was a trip to the chemist for baby paracetomol (Calpol, I think, is your equivalent). I am counting every day that I spend something, so I am still at 2NSD, but I swear, of the eleven days of November I have spent on myself maybe...2 days? I did it this way because I've been falling into the habit of spending on the kids as a way to spend; you know, I'm bored and wanting to spend so a guilt free way is to go look at birthday dresses for DD1's upcoming birthday, or maybe we're all out for the day and they're restless so let's go buy a snack at the local cafe... So I wanted to cut that out, and of course what happened was I was hit with the non-negotiable child expenses instead.

Onwards and upwards! It's a practice month! And other such encouraging mantras!

  • Hi all NSD 4 today. Not going anywhere today so no chance of spending. Got 2 more christmas presents yesterday so that was a spendy day, mainly the adults left to get. Was surposed to be going to Mums today for dinner but grandad is ill in hospital so i will br cooking today, quite a strange situation as grandad and my dads sisters are all estranged but like all families in times of crisis you all pull together. As my Dad has been poorly and mums been suffering with depression it has come at a very bad time (but then no time is ever a good time).
