    Hi
Not sure if this is the right place to post. I want to make fudge for gifts. Can anyone help me. I want to make it this weekend. Will it still be good until after Christmas? Also does anyone have a good receipe? I have Googled and have now confused myself! TIA

Haven't made fudge for years so dare not advise!
Have a look at this thread, which has a couple of recipes

I also read that fudge could keep several weeks, and also some have frozen it successfully, but I couldn't say as never done it.
  • Hello everyone! Well we're into the second week of December which means I've been starting to get my craft on :)

Am awaiting for some beads to arrive and once they are here, I'll make (and post) a wreath Christmas card holder that I've been itching to make for weeks. But I have just finished my Christmas cards and thought I'd share! I found the idea on Pintrest but using just buttons and not sparkle and embellishments like I have used but I wanted to jazz them up a bit. It didn't come with any instructions, just a photograph, but it's so easy it's pretty self explanatory. I made twenty and they cost me apprx £4.50 to make.
I'm very happy with how they've turned out! I saw in the beginning of this thread that if you post anything to add a little run down of what you used so:
    -Plain cards and envelopes
    - Superglue or glue that sticks plastic well (I used super glue)
    - Bunch of buttons and round/bauble shaped embellishments
    - Black fine tipped pen for drawing the lines (but you could get creative - silver or gold on black card would look gorgeous)
    - Ruler/straight edge

Just pick out a mix of embellishments that work well together, dot them on the card in the positions you want them, mark where they were, draw the lines and a little blob/square for the bauble "attachment", a little bow and then stick each bauble at the end. So easy and they really are cute. Ebay is great for Embellishments and buttons - you can get big mixed bags for under £2. HTH someone :)

Sorry have only just seen your post.

This recipe seems quite straightforward. It is for no-cook fudge.

Love your cards, even I could do them (I think.)

I love reading all the things everyone make but unfortunately can never be bothered to do them myself.
My excuse is I work FT, have 3 kids and go the gym 4 times a week in between ferrying kids here, there and everywhere.
Doesn't stop me enjoying looking though.
The only home made thing I will do is nigellas cranberry mince pies, brandy butter and retro sweet boxes.
Actually just thinking I also made 3 food hampers which look fab even if I say so myself.

    Hi Everyone!
This is my very FIRST post. I was JUST looking online tonight for a host/hostess gift for the couple who are hosting Christmas dinner. I've become addicted to the website Pinterest, and have come up with these ideas for a cute and relativity inexpensive gift.

    DIY Bespoke Coffee Mugs
    1) Buy 2 cheap, plain, white coffee mugs (Ikea?, charity shops?).
    2) Decorate with Sharpie Markers.
    3) Cure in the oven to be permanent (30 minutes at 180*C)! (note, need to be hand-washed).

    AND....

    DYI Chocolate Spoons
Can be made with plastic spoons. Melt chocolate and dip spoons in. Decorate still-wet chocolate with peppermint shards, sprinkles, candy, marshmallows, etc. Can be used in coffee or hot chocolate for fun flavours!

Luckily I have most of this at home (I don't drink a lot of coffee/tea and I live alone, so I'm giving up 2 mugs from my dishes set), so it's looking to be a cheap yet neat treat!

I have the links for these projects in case you want them. As a newbie, it won't let me post them. Just PM me if interested!

    Happy Holidays, everyone!

I made some snowman cup cakes as mentioned earlier in the thread for a family do that we had this weekend. I used mushroom mallows from Asda for the hats. And black an orange sugar balls from there as well for the nose and eyes. They went down very well, and I had a lot of fun making them.
