Goodness, you are impressively organised! I still haven't finished this year's gifts!
If you can crochet or knit, my latest discovery is dishcloth/cotton yarn. I've also been informed that you can knit/crochet with string (I'm thinking: traditional string bags). Wish I had more time this year to experiment...0 -
I know choc slabs have been mentioned already but I have decided to expand on it a little bit!
I am making 15-20 personalised choc slabs. Firstly doing white, milk or dark choc. Melting chocolate and pouring it into silicone cake tin, size and shape can vary! Then melting a little of a different chocolate and swirling it in the top, looks very pretty, and quite professional! Decorating with sweets round the edge (choosing sweets I know the person particularly likes eg maltesers, choc buttons).
The final bit which I haven't done yet is going to be using a piping bag and narrow nozzle to write the persons name on in a different colour chocolate. The first two are looking quite good, will upload pics when I finish some!
Also making different shapes, have some heart shaped, some donut shaped, round and square.
To finish I am going to wrap them in cellophane and tissue paper and ribbon.Kitchen Debt - 2820/260Save £12k in 2013 #060: 1293.24/3000MFW: 88760.00/85000.00 (4.24% paid)0 -

Today made a Tunisian Hamper for my friend
Pasta, Spaghetti, Olive Oil, Harrisa, Chantilly Creme (like dream topping), biscuits, coffee, teabags and sugar (there courtesy of the hotel we stayed at), and as shes mad on Meercats - had 2 mugs done, and their Tunisian meercats.
I was dreading when came back from Tunisia - if they open my luggage and see pasta and all that stuff they might think I'm mad, - all that and buying basket, cost less than £7 - have to take photo of it, xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Free Kindle ebook called Homemade Christmas with some nice gift ideas to make.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Homemade-Christmas-ebook/dp/B009RC0GQ0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354894769&sr=8-1
Only had a quick glance, but liked this one.
Heating Pad or Foot warmer
1/2 yard cotton flannel
4 cups uncooked white rice
1 tblsp whole cloves
Cut the flannel into a 14" x 18" rectangle. Fold with right sides together, so that the rectangle measures 7" x 18". Sew round edges, leaving an opening for turning. Turn and then fill with rice and cloves. Hand sew opening shut. For gift giving include instructions. To use as a heating pad, microwave for 1-2 mins on high.0 -
