What a fantastic thread, got some great ideas from it, thank you.
I started a xmas craft course, that unfortunately was cancelled after 2 weeks due to lack of numbers, however I did make these and loved making them:
The mouse template can be found here - http://www.marthastewart.com/273608/candy-cane-mice
The wreath I'm not sure, I just used two different size circles to trace around so I cut the middle out, then used thread to sew the popcorn on. The bow was just a square piece of material, that you then sewed a straight line down the bottom to then pull so it would get the shape.
I also made this little house, which is a different take on an advent calendar as you then put in a sweet or can be different decorations on your xmas tree. Not sure where the lady got the template for this though, otherwise I'd share.
and finally, I made this all by myself for my husbands 30th bday last week, it cost £8 all up. It took 9 bags of flying saucers and 2 bags of skittles. I got the pot and oasis for £2 from a charity shop, the pot was a horrible white and I used tissue paper to cover it up, the ribbon was 40p from boyes, obviously glue needed and I used cocktail sticks to hold on the flying saucers. I got the wooden dowel from homebase and just had an experiment. I've kept the shell and going to make him another one for xmas, he loved it so asked if I use it again with different sweets, so going to give it a go.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -
I'm quite fussy with hot chocolate but love Cadburys, when I do santa soup I buy the sachets of hot choc,
These are just my thoughts on other hot choc
Galaxy - very milky taste, - feels more milk than chocolate taste
Maltesters - Dont find it as chocy, more like a horlicks taste to me
Aero drinks - I think the original ok, but mint etc I think there a personal taste factor,
cadburys - you can't go wrong with xx
Thanks mum2one. I bought a jar of Cadbury's chocolate as the sachets were 32p each. As I have 18 to make for children x 2 sachets in each one it worked out quite a lot. Hence I thought four scoops plus one sachet was just about right. I intend to make them over the weekend and bag up with ribbon oh I also have to make the labels too! Thanks for your help.0 -

I made these a couple of years go. Added a can of beer for the male and a coke or whatever the partner drank. God daughter and husband loved it - especially as their baby was only three months old and no time for going out to socialise!0 -
Ahhhh love this thread!!!
I have been asking friends who their fave authors are, hunting down quotes and with a little bit of time on photoshop creating large scale blocks of the quotes which I will go and have printed off and then framed :-)
(frames have been ordered on ebay very cheaply so the only cost is to have them printed off)

Love all of the handmade and homemade goodies, you guys are on it! My gifts a bit of a mish mash of stuff that people like to a limited budget.
Ok, I've got a big favour to ask, can anyone inspire me of something to send to my cousins I can use a sewing machine, stick and glue stuff to my hearts content. I need to send gifts to my cousins, 1 male, 1 female and these gifts need to go in the post, I can just about stretch to £20 but would rather go to £15...
Any ideas or pointers in the right direction would really help very much!
I've just been looking at a 'prima makes' freebie insert from the summer and its so crafty, love it.
I'm a retro kind of girl, like second hand & charity but my cousins like to travel, they also seem to like the more expensive things in life!
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. XxMarried in 2016. Bought our first home in 2017. Expecting our first baby in November 2017

Continualdiamond your makes are fantastic. I love them. I've bought the things to make a flying saucer tree for a nephew in law for Christmas. I'm itching to get cracking but would the sweets go soft if I make it too early? The secret of Christmas

if they like travel what about a travelling set for them, i've just brought these from ebay (off to lapland soon). last yr went to Dom Rep, upgraded to first class, and we got blanket given to us, but those in standard seats if you wanted to buy a pack with blanket etc like that one was about £8 to buy.

To add a personal touch you could put their names on the front of the outer bag.
Then if you wanted to add any extras - £1 shops - you could add travelling alarm clock, passport cover, mini clothes line, padlocks, get a notebook and jazz the outher covers up with material and personalise, you add a card "for the travels ahead".
xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

But I don't think you can buy the latter that cheaply. Actually I suppose it doesn't have to be an xmas tree. It could be a small fruit tree which Lidl sometimes sell cheap.
Asda have mini Christmas trees for £3. These are real plant ones.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
