  • Thanks spring and spicyprawn - that's just what I'm looking for. That'll make nice mini presents for the neighbours. :)

  • I used to make little voucher books. One voucher said This voucher is valid for a cup of coffee. One voucher said valid for a hug. Another said I am available for one local 'minicab' service. And so on.... I know it's not much but it was extremely well received. Just adjust the vouchers for whomever the gift is. I made the vouchers by buying a little note book for 99p, personalising the front cover and creating my own vouchers with different coloured pens/felt pens. The whole book took a couple of hours at the most cos I stopped and started!!
  • Thanks mum2one, really helpful. I' thinking for other couple I'll do a lightweight movie night hamper.

For my OH, I've bought lots of little gifts that I'm going to put in a stocking I'll embroider with his name.

Love the voucher idea...I've made a few in little note cards as an extra for loved ones for things like housework (things I know they don't like doing!) etc.

I love the pots of gold, I did that one year. I've also made chilli jam (Nigella recipe) and blackberry vodka in the past as gifts.

If I can find my sewing machine pedal I might do some crafts on that!

I just did 50 bags of reindeer food, for DD - shes having a table at her school fayre, been trying to do things that she can sell for 50p saves having to play around with lots of change and adding up.

came out really cheep - brought set of mixed bags ebay ( 100 for 5.50) 5p bag, glitter (4 tubs £1 - used 1 tub) 25pand porridge oats - bag 50p used 1/4 of it, labels self designed on computer (50p for ink)

    £3.27 - rounded up 7p bag

also brought - some popping candy - tango flavours and some sherbert straws - plan is 3 tangos and 3 popping straws - cost price for my package 33p - 50p

going to do snowmen soup - pop choc into small food bag, mini marshallows and candy cane - cheaper than using sachets - est cost to be 20p - sell 50p

if anyone has ideas for cheap gifts please shout xx

Asda have mini Christmas trees for £3. These are real plant ones.

I got same in a teco express today, same price. Very cute. Have a festive cover round the pot too which is plastic lined to doesn't leak water everywhere.

  • @ mum2one re cheap ideas how about little peppermint cream 'snowballs'

The ingredients I use are icing sugar, water and peppermint flavouring, just mix to firm dough like texture then roll into small balls and put in a clear food bag or clear wrap with a little bow

ETA: let them dry before packaging them
  • Does anyone know of a poem you could attach to a movie nights themed bundle?

I just wonder what you suggest is a good hot chocolate to use please. I don't want to buy something that is cheap and nasty tasting. I don't drink it either so not too sure! Lol. Is cadbury's drinking chocolate best or something like Rowntrees cocoa powder? Many thanks. :)

I used Cadbury's got a massive tup on special in Asda :)
