£80 per month for both gas and elec, was £120 but changed by supplier 2 months ago as we were paying too much.
Currently £368 in credit, will probably level off over winter months.
2 bedroom detatched bungalow, 3 adults at home.0 -
£70 for both
A house with 2 adults and 2 children.0 -
Sadly I will win!
Combined gas and electric is now £400 a month. Electric is about £60 and the rest gas.
4 oven aga and 2 central heating boilers. 3 storey townhouse with unconverted cellars and attic. 6 bedrooms and 14 open fireplaces (with loads of loft insulation stuffed up them all). Terrible windows - everest apparently only 10 years old but more than half leak, plants grow through 1 and 1 leaks so much that mould grows on the walls. In process of getting wooden windows put back in.
Don't have heating on at all from April until October.
Boilers 20 years old so I imagine they gas guzzle!June challenge £100 a day £3161.63 plus £350 vouchers plus £108.37 food/shopping saving
July challenge £50 a day. £ 1682.50/1550
October challenge £100 a day. £385/£31000 -

Wow you must love the house, sounds like it could have bags of character!
Even higher gas bills than my parents who have it on 25c in an old house.0 -
i have my heating on from roughly mid september through to april. constant. 24 hours a day. thermostat set at usually 22 degrees, 24 if i want a day in me skivvies.
i have a 4 bedroomed house. all big rooms. my kitchen is 22 foot by 15 foot, my master bedroom is 26 foot by 18 foot. the box room is 15 foot by 11 foot. combi boiler with wireless stat. stat in the hallways 5 foot from an external facing door so it picks up temperature drops quickly.
i pay £71 a month duel fuel, direct debit, paperless billing. My current deal got agreed last month with eon and is guaranteed for 12 months with a guaranteed reduction in 12 months. ( i told eon i was paying £75 a month with british gas so they gave me a £4 reduction to get me signed up... i was not paying £75 a month it was just over £90 a month...and i wasn't with british gas. they dont care. any company will beat whatever price you tell them when they quote you, its how to get onto the lower tariffs)
Every 12 months i switch suppliers. Not once in 4 years have i been 'in' when a meter reader came around. Every contract i start they ask me to send them a meter reading via sms. Every contract i end they ask me to send a meter reading via sms.
I ignore all those. After 2-3months they stop texting. I don't receive any mail after 2-3 months regarding the meter readings or the switch. The meter readers dont even bother knocking on the door for the last 6 months.
Not one of any of the company's i've had contracts with over the years is asking me to pay extra overs to the contracted amount. When i switch they thank me for my business and send me incentives to come back to them.
British Gas are currently installing approx. £9k worth of value into my house for free. Internal wall insulation, plasterboard and skim. External insulation and render at the back. new boiler and loft insulation. I'm not with British gas and haven't been for over 3 years.
Once they are done i'm going to point it out to eon in 12 months time to ensure when they pricebeat the £71 they currently cahrge me for duel fuel, they take into account the £9000 worth of thermal efficiency that has been added to my house since we agreed on £71 pcm for duel fuel.
Beuracracy is incompetent. Take advantage of it.0 -

What is your yearly usage in Kwh ? Your DD seems low given the amount of time and temperature you have your heating at ?0 -

Did you not read his post? He probably owes thousands to fuel companies but is deceiving each and every one of them“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Whoops I only half-read the rest and missed that they were a newbie.:o0 -
2 bed semi detached, moved in back in June and just had first full quarter bills...
Electric £105 so £35 a month for that.
Gas £77 so around £25 a month.
£60 a month for both... For now at least, luckily (never thought I would say that) we are with Eon, but I am looking at switching to a cheaper fixed rate deal as we are just on standard tariffs and not dual fuel either!0
