How much is your gas bill monthly and how much is your electric bill monthly?

  • No mains gas, so all electric. £105 per month;

    This is a 1920s 3 bed semi, 7 people, almost always there is someone home.

    We heat with a couple of oil filled radiators that are moved from room to room as needed and our main source of heat is a coal fire (just spent around £160 for enough coal to hopefully get us through winter, so this should probably be added to our outgoings?)

    Wow, I'm staggered by how much some people on this thread are paying on fuel. You must all wear T shirts in winter.
  • Well, I'm not paying very much, and I'm sitting here wearing nothing above the waist.

    Electric roughly £20 a month. I pay every 3 months, last bill was £58, the one before was £61.

    Gas direct debit has just been cut from £28 to £20 a month, but I think they have set it too low. I did use only £9 of gas in the last 3 months, but that was because it was summer and I only use gas for some hot water (have an electric shower) and heating which hasn't been on since April, but will be this week for the first time.

    2 bedroom end terrace house.

    5 bed detached

    Elec: £20-£24 pcm
    Gas: £55 - £65 pcm

    That's actual meter reading usage for the past week.

    We actually only pay £70 combined at the moment.

    But if it carries on being 0c like last night and tonight that easily goes to about £85 - £95 pcm gas and in mid winter perhaps easily doubles to £120 - £140 pcm for gas, elec always stays about the same.

    Thank god in summer gas is only about £15 pcm :)
