So the accused don't get to know your address but they do get to know your name - what's the difference with 192 etc!?

Of course accused should get to know who is accusing them but if at anytime a witness is harassed because of this, the harasser should get prison.

I do not know it was the scrotes. It may have been a coincidence that my wife's car was vandalised on the same day these scrotes were up in court.

If you know someone's name you can easily look up their address @ http://www.192.com/ and a.n.other websites. Try it with your own name.

The more I learn about how it works, the less confidence I have in our justice system.

And if you google your name under images the chances are a picture of you will appear!

Of course the accused need to know the accusers, but if anyone tries to corrupt the justice system (by threatening witnesses etc) it should be 5 years in prison minimum.

I hope you are not suggesting I am making this up?

No... I was meant to be a post saying that in other situations, the system works well.... And that I'm surprised that it was handled this badly for you.... But thanks for the accusation.......always nice.....

You might think so, but the courts take a much more lenient view.

In england, most cases will be heard in the magistrates court where the maximum sentence is 6 months imprisonment. Only the most serious cases will be referred to crown court where the maximum sentence is 5 years imprisonment.

In this shocking case where the witness was assaulted by a gang of eight in her own home. Only the ring leader was sentenced to 6 months in prison. > http://www.examiner.co.uk/news/local-west-yorkshire-news/2012/10/09/mob-in-court-over-witness-intimidation-at-rawthorpe-86081-31994518/

I did not accuse you of anything, I gave you the opportunity to clarify your point of view.

Many thanks for your tactless comments, during what has been a distressing time for my wife and I.

Not all situations would require you to know your accusers.

However they way our justice system works is that it is taken that the accusers detail are held by the CPS and prosecuting authorities
