Why bother the ipad 4 is due out in the next month or so

Did you miss the announcement on the 23rd?

4th Gen iPad is available to order from today, in Apple Stores next Friday.

Don't know how the iPad 4th gen relates to a mini discussion though.

I've yet to find a way to fold an iPad to fit in my pocket, and can't figure which parts to remove to halve the weight.

It's not really comparable to the full size iPad in size or weight, they don't really compare, but are complementary.

I don't get the Apple thing. As far as I can can tell, if you put an 'i' before the name of the product you can charge far more, when others are about that can do the same or similar for a fraction the cost.

These people that queue up and must have the latest (didn't someone sell their kidney?) are like sheep, blindly following each other... its quite funny isnt it really?

It's not an Apple thing, it's a "want" thing, people queue for all sorts, video game releases, console releases, DVD releases, band gigs, shop sales, the list goes on.

One of the worst is actually a yearly bridal shop sale / new line, google "running of the brides" for more, there are even injuries in that one.

No one is able to do the same as Apple as no other manufacturer can put iOS on their devices. You can get something that does something similar (such as Android or Windows 8) but for a lot of people, similar isn't good enough. This is how and why the premium for Apple products is justified. I'm happy to spend more money on a product that's going to be more useful, less frustrating and more enjoyable to use than what else is out there. That also means I get excellent value for money, which fits in very nicely with the spirit of this website :). Many people often forget that cheap doesn't always equal good/better.

And here we see another example of someone clearly brainwashed by apple spin and marketing.

Anyone describing the iPad mini as "excellent value for money" wants their head examined.

Most definitely. But Apple's excellent hardware and support also help :).

Since when was preference equivalent to brainwashing? I hate to think how many companies have brainwashed you into buying their products!

    Less frustrating? How?

    More enjoyable? How?

    Excellent value for money? How?

More people forget that something that costs more doesnt make it better.
