tigerwhite wrote: »I went to B&M and they had McDougals SR flour 1kg for 39p :T:T T have a 1.5kg for £1 but it's on 3 for 2 so the B&M is a better bargain if you have one. In there, I also found ready to roll marzipan (Sugarcraft or silver spoon) for 40p!! I got so excited then saw the use by date was Oct 12. I'm making 8 Xmas cakes this year and only icing them in Dec. Do you reckon i could use that? I never go on dates for myself but I put it back as I didn't want to poison others....
That's a great find too - thanks! I may just pop in at the weekend to B&M before splashing out at Ts.
re. icing - I don't think you'll poison anyone as such I think it may just be a bit dry/harder to roll and maybe taste a bit stale? I've actually been using out of date (slightly, well July if I'm honest) ready to roll icing (in a multitude of colours) that I had for decorating cakes and cupcakes with figures and stuff i.e. little carrots for carrot cake and cutting out shapes etc for use later on. Won't really matter if they dry out etc and have them in tubs for use even later on lol but I haven't used any for covering an actual cake though. Maybe someone on here has though - wouldn't like be solely responsible for you poisoning folk  :rotfl:0 -
Just a quick question, I purchased some orange matchmakers at ADSA today thinking they were £1 each as that is what they were marked as with the mint matchmakers and maltesers, but I paid £2 each for them.
I didn't notice until I did a price check so I got the difference back.
I know Mr T do a DTD if marked incorrectly, but does ADSA also do something similar?0 -
