Just heard that next door's cousin is having a hernia op... it certainly puts things into perspective for me. Here is me moaning about a poxy Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir not comparing.

And as ever, there is a song that springs to mind....

It reminds me of when my grandad forgot his way home from the pub and ended up in S!!!!horpe. He was missing for weeks. We found him shacked up with a crackhead prossy in Glasgow. Apparently, he'd hit his head on the wooden bar whilst pulling his flies up and had momentarily lost his memory. The girl in question (the prossy), had taken advantage of him and was using his credit cards to fund her drug habit. We wouldn't have minded, but she got my grandad onto drugs.

It took us the best part of 3 months to ween him off the drugs. We all had to take it in turns to keep guard over him after that.

Anyway, i'll leave you with the song in question.. enjoy.. (oh.. hugs to all that need them, and kleenex wipes to all that don't).

P.S. Sorry for the long post... but I felt I had to get all that off my chest.. and where better? than here?

    Oh JJJ,

hi tricia, i don't think you were around last year when some people from the thread decided to start a facebook group .

it caused a lot of chaos on the thread with some being allowed to join and some not, a lot of the regulars were upset and accused the facebook group of coming and getting info from here but not sharing their finds back on the thread.

now whilst the asda glitch was at its peak and lots of new posters came along to take advantage of it, the thread became very difficult to keep up to date with so the regulars thought it a good idea to create a facebook page so they could keep abreast of things.

although the thread has more or less settled back down a lot of the old regulars seem to have stayed on facebook and choose not to post on here, i don't mean just bargains or glitches but the usual little snippets of everyday life which is really the heart and soul of this thread, the highs and lows of life that make us all realise we are not alone with our problems as there is always someone to share them with on here who will listen and always someone to celebrate the little things that make us happy in our day as well.

i have seen some regulars names on here recently so they do still read the thread but sadly it seems they only post to have a dig at someone posting, in a way the regulars have become lurkers it is a very sad thing to happen :(

i am a regular, i know i don't post often, i have been trying hard to and am amazed at my own post count as i never would have thought it possible to have gotten so high when i joined a year ago.
but this is my thread, it is the one i visit every day and have done since a week after i joined mse, so i have the right to express my opinion and shall finish this very very long post by saying a very big thankyou to all who post here and share their lives with us

Couldn't agree more, in view of the grief the original FB group caused it was a mistake by Karlie to set up another.....

locarr that's unfair. karlie couldn't have know what would happen and isn't here to defend herself, not that she should have to either. I don't believe that there was any ulterior motive or divisive aim in the setting up of that group. It was merely a tool to enable people to catch up quickly... hence the title.

Two more names to add to the list of users who have not read post #1. :(
Actually I did read it but haven't you ever tried something just because? I knew what the T&C said, but lets face it they don't always follow their own rules. And if you only have a receipt for 6 things...why not try out the pp anyway? There may be glitches of all kinds after all.:)

i know why you've posted the above...and ordinarily I would agree with you...but when I checked the new T&Cs for price porkies the other day, I'm sure it said on there that any item you're not charged for is not an eligible item (ie free carrier bag) ..nor are the bags for life :( It also states that reduced items ie whoopsies wont be included :)

not tested your theory or the new T&Cs yet, so dont know if they're accurate.... I wouldn't be surprised if it was complete gobbledygook ;)

I did a 7 item shop with bag re-use 2 (maybe 3) days ago. Certainly after new terms came out

PP came back through just fine ;)

It wasn't planned to be a 7-item shop. I did have 8 items in my basket but my carrot was so small that it didn't register ( :rotfl:) so SA gave me it free.
