Oh! dear, that really isn't good. Didn't do any shopping this weekend, have kinda lost my mojo or to be honest completely skint but tomorrow is pay day. She did try to explain the process to me the weekend before so I thanked her and said it all seemed very complicated!
My mojo has upped and left too, do you think they are seeing each other behind our backs?Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -

I got some breakfast biscuits yesterday using a 'price raincheck ticket' which let me buy them for 1GBP and then used my 1GBP off ATM vouchers to pay from them. I knew it was a bit complicated on the till so asked a passing supervisor to help ring it off, and they still managed to overcharge me! But I did get DTD at customer service by popping by on the way out:) Thanks to the posters who reminded me that when supermarkets have promoted offers, and run out when they could reasonably be expected to have had stock, it is the law that one can ask for such a raincheck voucher. Tescos CS did know this when I asked, they just came with me to check the shelf was empty and had a white SEL not a yellow one. ( I think it was that way round )Checked the Kelloggs Nutigrain in Tosco, back in stock at the full price of course, so not much use hanging onto the £1 vouchers.
Managed to get a few WW in Asda, but no woppsies. Asda dint seem to sell the butternut squash or salmon ww, only Morrisons, who tend not to like coupons. Shame because they would be good for my elderly Mum (who doesn't eat meat and lives on her own - I visit most days) just to warm up in the microwave. Will have to brave the wrath of M's for some of them.
Horrible and wet in the North West and very very Dark, so early. Hope everyone has a nice evening, I'm looking forward to Downton Abbey at 9.I am not young enough to know everything.0 -

What a good idea. My DD has a Ford Focus which she founds expensive to run so while she is looking for a smaller car I am letting her share my Micra ( 1993 bought for £350.00 4 years ago and have only spent about £250.00 in 4 years including MOT).
I have a friend who does a bit of dealing and he is on the look out for us. He says that there are finally some cheap small cars coming back on sale after the Government scrappage scheme. He will find us a car, do any small repairs and mot it and only adds 10% for his trouble. My micra is the 4th car we have had from him.
By the way, people like your friend are worth their weight in gold. This thread is obviously mainly for perishable goods but when you think of the amount of money we all waste in durable goods like cars and electrical equipment, we could all save a fortune if we could get help to maintain high-price items so we didn't feel we had to replace them all the time. Crikey, that's a story and a half!! It reminds me of when my grandad forgot his way home from the pub and ended up in S!!!!horpe. He was missing for weeks. We found him shacked up with a crackhead prossy in Glasgow. Apparently, he'd hit his head on the wooden bar whilst pulling his flies up and had momentarily lost his memory. The girl in question (the prossy), had taken advantage of him and was using his credit cards to fund her drug habit. We wouldn't have minded, but she got my grandad onto drugs.
It took us the best part of 3 months to ween him off the drugs. We all had to take it in turns to keep guard over him after that.
What a rough time your family and gran had...
