It has to be the biscuits ! They are missing from this APG as well. Be careful though, I accidentally picked up the Milk Terrys instead of the Dark ones - not a major problem as I only lost out on about 75p.ELITE 5:2

The weight watchers that you bought, they are not the select are they? Were they chilled or frozen and did the coupon scan for them or did it need overriding please. TIA

Actually I have a question to the Elite Mummy and Daddies.
My DD is 2 (3 in February) and I've noticed over the last few weeks that she sometimes struggles to get some of her words out, almost like a stutter/stammer. I have spoken to our Health Visitor and she said she would make a referral to the speech therapist for us. I'm just wondering how this will work though, as DD is quite shy and doesn't really talk much to people she doesn't know and I would imagine the speech therapist would need to hear it for herself?
Don't suppose anyone has had a similar experience that could offer some advice? Or happens to know what the speech therapist will do? Thanks in advance
i seem to be on advice giving session today
my DD1 (aged 4 now) has had speech therapy for the last 15 mths....I self referred her as the playgroup she attends seemed to think I was overreacting and that she would develop in her own time.
DD1 was a little shy....her vocabulary was fine, as in the number of words she knew, it was just the pronounciation of words that was very unclear to everyone but close family.
At the referral, the HV asked me a few questions, then said she qualified for ST and would be put on a waiting list....and its a long waiting game
About 8 months later she had her 1st session...a one-on-one session with a lady...they showed her 6 pictures of various sounds... S, F, G, B, D, T....they have actions to do with the sound, so help teach the child the sound.
We were given copies of these picture cards to practise at home...and we went fortnightly to the ST sessions for 6 weeks. They then assess the childs progress, and go from there. Shirtly after the first sessions, DD1 developed a very bad stutter. We were referred for further sessions 6 mths later....they were group sessions which ran in a similar way to the previous ones, but it was thought that the group setting would be more proactive. It wasnt for us as DD1 was getting more shy each day with her stammer getting worse. DD1 was then referred again for one-to-one sessions...these didnt seem to make a big difference either.
It was only in September when DD1 started reception year in school, and was given lots of phonics practise daily with her peers, that her speech became more recogniseable. She has come on leaps and bounds in the last 2 months...stammer all but gone, speech very clear (not 100% but brilliant compared to pre-Sept)....and can say sounds that she struggled with (G and F were her nemesis!) easily....and shes started spelling and writing her words now!! (insert proud mummy smilie!)
I think in a nutshell I would offer two pieces of advise...
1. ignore what others say, if you feel that DD needs help with her speech, then push for it....you may be pushed back..but dont give in, as theres such long waiting lists, better to start early.
2. I think its one of those things that you only get out as much as you can put in......I think to start with I was expecting miracles...not realising I had to put a lot of time and effort into helping DD.....but seeing the difference in the last few weeks from having the help at home AND at school (playgroup offered no help and wouldnt even do the phonics exercises I requested) has been phenomenaul :T:T:T
hang on in there, speak clearly and pronouce key sounds slowly. The ST will give you lots of tips on how to help....but feel free to PM me if you'd like any before then!
Good luck xxhoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!0 -

Looking for a bargain.. I've seen a few people have responded already but I'm in the same position as you. DS is just 3 and it's perfectly normal. He starts a sentence and if he wants to say "I want to go to the car" but can't find/remember a word, i noticed that he would say "I want to... I want to... i want to .... go to the car." He always goes back to the beginning of the sentence until he gets the right word. Just part and parcel of him learning and increasing his vocabulary so I'm sure that your DS will be fine. Just ignore it and try not to fill in the gaps for her, let her figure it out on her own.Tiger
