I got my Elizabeth Arden gift box delivered yesterday (thanks OP) and it looks quite nice. It's going away for someone's xmas present.

Also, I did a little test a few days ago as someone posted about Kelloggs squares honeycomb being free (until 10th Dec) with a T order online. So i ordered via Click and Collect (iit's the same as the Elevenses raisin bakes a while back)... Anyway, I did an order Fri night for the free Kelloggs squares (link below) and some milk and orange juice and it worked. there is no minimum spend either.

Quite funny now because I have so much more money and I never say "I shouldnt really I can't afford it" I'm more likely to say "I wouldnt pay that for it!".

You know I wouldnt have let you buy it, it would have been a Tesco value one :)

Hello all just catching up from this morning had to skip most of yesterday haring up & down the motorway a tad tired now zzzzzzzzzz

This is simply not true as evidenced that the Pinot Noir compared at sains but not Tesco (where is was cheaper).

(That's obviously an aside as we all know that the SA made it up).
You need to compose a nice email to the bigwig at Asda. Not sure who exactly but his name has been mentioned around here before.

Both the Hardys Chardonnay and rose are showing OOS at Tesco on MSM for me and have been for a few days now, since the price went back up in As. Don't know why though as I've been in T's today and they had both in stock!

I put a list of things you could buy with the chocs but I think it's just the biscuits that tbw mentioned.
Anyway i've done a test shop results due back at 5.54pm

i seem to be on advice giving session today :)

my DD1 (aged 4 now) has had speech therapy for the last 15 mths....I self referred her as the playgroup she attends seemed to think I was overreacting and that she would develop in her own time.

DD1 was a little shy....her vocabulary was fine, as in the number of words she knew, it was just the pronounciation of words that was very unclear to everyone but close family.

At the referral, the HV asked me a few questions, then said she qualified for ST and would be put on a waiting list....and its a long waiting game :(

About 8 months later she had her 1st session...a one-on-one session with a lady...they showed her 6 pictures of various sounds... S, F, G, B, D, T....they have actions to do with the sound, so help teach the child the sound.

We were given copies of these picture cards to practise at home...and we went fortnightly to the ST sessions for 6 weeks. They then assess the childs progress, and go from there. Shirtly after the first sessions, DD1 developed a very bad stutter. We were referred for further sessions 6 mths later....they were group sessions which ran in a similar way to the previous ones, but it was thought that the group setting would be more proactive. It wasnt for us as DD1 was getting more shy each day with her stammer getting worse. DD1 was then referred again for one-to-one sessions...these didnt seem to make a big difference either.

It was only in September when DD1 started reception year in school, and was given lots of phonics practise daily with her peers, that her speech became more recogniseable. She has come on leaps and bounds in the last 2 months...stammer all but gone, speech very clear (not 100% but brilliant compared to pre-Sept)....and can say sounds that she struggled with (G and F were her nemesis!) easily....and shes started spelling and writing her words now!! (insert proud mummy smilie!)

I think in a nutshell I would offer two pieces of advise...
    1. ignore what others say, if you feel that DD needs help with her speech, then push for it....you may be pushed back..but dont give in, as theres such long waiting lists, better to start early.
    2. I think its one of those things that you only get out as much as you can put in......I think to start with I was expecting miracles...not realising I had to put a lot of time and effort into helping DD.....but seeing the difference in the last few weeks from having the help at home AND at school (playgroup offered no help and wouldnt even do the phonics exercises I requested) has been phenomenaul :T:T:T

hang on in there, speak clearly and pronouce key sounds slowly. The ST will give you lots of tips on how to help....but feel free to PM me if you'd like any before then!

    Good luck xx

Thanks Looby, I really appreciate you taking the time to write that. I'm really glad to hear how things have improved with your DD as well. A big well done to you both :T

After reading this I am glad that I've made the call to get the referral. As you say there are long waiting lists and if it is going to develop into something I would rather get it caught early. Maybe by the time we get an appointment it will have stopped, who knows, but if it hasn't it means we're going to get seen and can hopefully do something about it. It was more the fact that she's now aware that she's doing it and going quiet as a result. I don't want it to effect her as she is quite shy anyways, so I don't want anything else to put her off talking, iykwim.

    Thanks again Looby xx

Hmm, I had a suitcase full of dirty washing, including towels & bedding. He'd been saving it up to bring home.
When DD came home she had no washing but we passed a bag of coins to her for laundry . We give her all our pound coins when we see her! And pretty much anything else we think she needs!

Hi everybody I hope the day is going well. Wasn't going to go shopping but got the urge at 3pm, Popped to my Mr S, glad I did, got loads of cakes for tomorrow at work and some Pizza's. There was no 9p toothpaste there though.
Mortgage debt 45,000. Thank you all for your help so far in helping me save to buy the house. I could not have done this without all your help.
