Not the most misleading advert I have ever seen!

Still we now know that an 'Everlasting Boiler' doesn't last forever!
  • Got boiler installed 7months ago,all was welland good, until last week,
Called to report a fault and was told that someone would call me back, nobody did, called them again today and she said that someone will call me back, told her that is what they said last week, got annoyed at the lack of service, now 5.53pm and nobody has called back,
Absolute crap service from this company.

Was stupid enough to have one of these boilers installed, what a mistake!

Since we have had it we have (including installation ) eleven (11) people to visit to attend the boiler. Rang nine (9) days ago for a visit as the boiler is banging on ignition. Still waiting!!!!!They have been before and changed the thermostat but it is still not right.
I would NOT recommend this company at all.
Rang at 4.20 this afternoon to ask when they will attend, they will ring back!!!
Have given them till 4.20p.m tomorrow to attend if not then am taking legal action over breach of contract.

They now apparently install Viessmann boilers, but don't quote a standard price.

    - about £900 retail [incl VAT] to buy
    - about £1200 fitted
    - apparently made in Hortonwood, Shropshire not Germany

We desperately need a new boiler.
Unfortunately we're not in a position to purchase one outright and, have it fitted etc.

I came across a company called " Everlasting boilers ".

    I rang for general info.
Currently half price rental of £ 4.44 a week for the first 3 months and then this doubles. All servicing, 24 hour callouts etc are included. The option of upgrading to a new boiler after 9 years.
Should you sell your property then you can purchase the boiler on an age pro rata basis or pass on the rental to the new owners should they want to accept. The latter I doubt as I personally wouldn't want to.
They come out to do a free no obligation assessment. They can also install within 24 - 48 hours.
    There's no credit check.

    My husband's not so sure.
Our boiler's beyond repair and currently only heating our home.
Boiling pans and kettles are becoming a nightmare.

I'd love to know your thoughts on this or if you've heard of this company or if anyone on this board is renting a boiler.

Thats just a stuck valve - easy DIY repair, plenty of videos on how to do it on youtube

  • I have "done the maths" on boiler rental Vs. boiler purchase. This is for a like for like comparison and compares the cost of a local gas fitter, installing a good quality boiler Vs. Everlasting Boilers (other rental companies are available)

    Option 1 - Purchase

    -Baxi Platinum 33KW
    -Installation, VAT, power flush
-10 years parts and labour guarantee
-5 x annual services (manufacturer will cover 10 years BUT I pref to pay extra from British Gas
-5 years comprehensive boiler cover from B Gas (including annual service)
-factoring in price increases at +5% per year

    Total Price = £4318 (for 10 years)
    Total yearly price = £432
    Total monthly price = £36

Option 2 - Rental from "Everlasting Boilers"

    -Veissman 29KW (top quality boiler)
-Installed quickly with no credit check and no upfront fees
-£19 per month for 3 months
-£38 per month for 9 years and 9 months (+3% increase per annum)
    -"buy out at year 10" = £1395

    Total Price = £6578 (for 10 years)
    Total yearly price = £658
    Total monthly price = £54.83

Bottom Line: Everlasting boilers is ~£19 more per month

If you have the money, buy a Baxi, Vaillant or Worcester
If you dont have the money / finance facility, then go for a rental
If you do run rental until the end of its life (14 years) the cost per month is still working out at £46 per month (i.e £10 per month more) and this is the lowest cost way of running a boiler rental scheme
