Emmy wrote:Well I just told my daughter that I had ordered her some washable pads, thinking that she would be horrified (in the mood to wind her up) and she said....just so long as they are pink!!!!!!! that backfired!!! what was that website then??0

There's no reason a teenager couldn't have a small plastic tub in her room to keep them in until it's wash time, then whoever's doing the washing could just tell her the machine's ready to switch on when she's loaded her stuff into it.
I am fully expecting my son to be able to use the washing machine independently before he's a teenager anyway....

i went through a phase of throwing badly stained knickers away, mum was very cross lol! nowadays i just buy black knickers, it solves the problem!
i find tampons very painful too. it's difficult to describe. it's not the insertion, it's not their position, it's just something about them being there that's difficult to explain. the pain is better when i remove the tampon but i couldn't just wear a towel, it wouldn't last 5 minutes (too much info i know lol!). on a pcos email list i used to be a member of there were quite a few who found tampons painful but i don't know if it's pcos related, we all had endometriosis too. i had the same pain when i tried to use a contraception cap so am not sure about a mooncup.
i keep saying that i'll be having a mirena soon but it's not happening. the GP couldn't find my tilted cervix and has referred me for hospital insertion. i asked if sperm will have similar problems finding my cervix but she was noncommittal :rotfl:52% tight0 -
ah, i see. so having a tilted (and apparently hidden) cervix and strong contractions during heavy days wouldn't cause problems. if mirena doesn't stop my periods i'll give it a go :-)52% tight0

Spendless wrote::eek: eek. Does she do her own washing? I couldn't have had them when I lived at home and mum did all the laundry. It's one of the reasons I'm put off now, I'd be ok if I could put them straight in the wash and take them out myself, but I don't fancy the idea of needing them washed and the WM already being on, and keeping them somewhere till the WM is free. I'm obviously too squeamish for these ideas folks:o
LOL no spendless she will be fine .......we are very close and it's not something we would consider being a problem.....arrhhhh she is lovely, so glad I have her in my life.....that's me started now!!!:heartpuls Number 1 Aunty Gok fan :heartpuls0 -

I've been a pround owner of a Mooncup for almost 3 months now and cannot believe how I managed without one for all those years! It's brilliant (and DH is fed up listening to me go on and on about how great it is), so if there's anyone reading this and not sure whether to get one, GO AND GET ONE!!! :j
well I've gone and got one, still not had a period yet, for once its not really early! Told all my friends about it and they just couldn't stop laughing! never knew it was such an emotive subject. Then they all brought it up at a meal out the guys faces were a picture and my stomach is still sore from laughing! oh well I'll have the last laugh with all the money saved. sent them an email re the peeweez now!0 -
Oooo! Couldn't get on with mine at all. Tried for a few months and then gave up. Didn't take them up on the return for a refund as it just didn't seem right sending it back in the post bearing in mind where it had been! Expensive mistake, but I'm sure if you are one of the people they suit (i.e. don't have heavy periods) then they do save money in the long run.0
