Sorry, couldn't resist it, especially as I have FINALLY been able to try it out, and I can categorically say, it works!
No leaks, fine overnight, putting it in and taking it out no problem. Hooray!
I did have to cut the entire stalk off right down to the base, (a bit too poky otherwise), but as anticipated, no problems with removal, even without the stalk.
For everyone who has been worried about the messiness, it isn't! I always get my fingers mucky with tampons, but so far, even on my heaviest time, this hasn't happened. In fact, I'm amazed how little flow there actually is once you see it in the bottom of the cup. (For the squeamish, I think actually that a bloody tampon looks much more alarming.)
It's been extremely easy to deal with, and it feels brilliant not flushing tampons down the loo, (or putting them in the rubbish, however you personally deal with them). It actually feels much more hygienic re-inserting a nicely rinsed little rubber cup than fiddling around with a cellophane-wrapped bunch of hairy cotton wool.
Also, (though I don't know whether this is because of the mooncup or not), I don't seem to be having any period pain this month.
I'm only into my second day, but so far I'm very happy with it. Thank you to all those offering encouragement and advice.
this could be the first time ever that I'm looking forward to my period! due on my 45th birthday! wonder how long I'll go on having periods wish they'd hurry up and stop for good.0 -
I have sat most of today reading this thread. Checking websites and ebay pricing one up. I went to town to Boots, they charge £19.99  But do have them on 3 for 2, but I only want one.
I have ordered one from the mooncup website, so await it's arrival0 -
