I was very excited yesterday that I could at last use my Mooncup. I got the hang of it straight away so no problem there. ;)

But come bedtime I was feeling quite unwell. I could feel my heart racing I was feeling sick and my abdaman felt really sore. After being in bed for half an hour I just felt worse.

I had to remove it in case it was the Mooncup causung me to feel unwell.

It was. After about half an hour I felt better and this morning fine. :T

I don't ever have any period pains or cramps so I do have to put this down to the Mooncup. I don't think I am going to be able to use mine.

This is exactly what happened to me a few years ago when I bought mine. I tried it again thinking it was a coinicidence but the same thing happened. I put it down to my body having a reaction to the rubber material. Maybe we have very sensitive you know what's. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Did you use a mooncup or the American version, 'the keeper'? The keeper is made of latex, (or at least the one I saw was), which some people are allergic to, but the mooncup is made of hypo-allergenic silicone, which shouldn't cause any kind of reaction, as far as I know.

('Tis passing strange, but I guess every substance in the World must have someone who is allergic to it.)

This shouldn't put anyone off trying the mooncup, though, as far more people have problems with tampons than with their mooncup.

The one I used was called *The Keeper* so must have been the USA one. I must have had an allergic reaction to the latex and don't have a senstive you know what after all. :D

Sorry I never saw this. Yeh, sadly my 8 year old (now 9) has started hers already. I think they take after me as I started at 8 too.

Yep! Mines silicone & when I was at work I used to get so sick of the nurses telling me its 'hypo-allergenic'. Not if your allergic to it its not -lol;)

I believe you can also get a synthetic sponge which works in the same way.

I've never used either, but apparently you can happily and tidily have sex with them in because they don't get in the way. I'm told that 'professional' ladies quite often use them so as not to miss out on business opportunities during their period. ;):D

I bought a mooncup in boots the other day - been thinking about it for a while and it was the £3 off voucher that I got from the advantage point that swayed me! So it was £16.99 instead of £19.99.

I'm slightly nervous about using it but not that squeamish luckily. I'm more wondering how I'll cope at work and in public loos - it says take a bottle of water with you but I think my colleagues might wonder what the hell I was up too!

Be a week or so til I get to use it but will let you know what I think!

I can't wait to hear how you get on as I've been thinking about it for about a year now and don't know if it'll be a 5 minute wonder or not. Also I have a seperate toilet and bathroom, I'm wondering of this'll be a problem.
