Well, it's mooncup day today for the first time!
It's going well so far, no leaks etc. although I think that I'll have to trim the long bit totally off!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
I was thinking of getting one yesterday but saw they came in 2 sizes !!!
Help - any ideas...Did not have time to look for long as on lunch from work.I work for TUI Group of Companies. My companies ATOL/ABTA numbers are 2524 / D5299. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Travel Agent, so you need to take my word for it but Atol numbers can be checked on the Civil Aviation Authority website. This signature is here as I follow MSE's Travel Agent Code of Conduct.0 -
This lady explains what size mooncup you need on her website, I hope that helps :-)

Well, I've used it for three days now.
It took a bit of getting used to but now I'm learning how to get it out easier, I won't go into the graphics here!! I had to trim the long bit quite a bit as it was rubbing! I'm going to persevere though and I'm sure that it'll be fine. The best news of all is that there were no leaks at all.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
Just received my email newsletter from mooncup. They're giving away some pin badges, and I've requested one and got mail back saying that I'll be receiving it shortly. Will this be the new way to recognise mse members? A while ago oldstylers were wearing safety pins on their lapels to make themselves known, this could be the updated version!!!:D0

I am just 2 days into my Mooncup and am really pleased with it.
I just have a few questions for you experts!!!
I fould it uncomfortable to wear tampons as I always felt like they were sliding out, so far I have been ok with the mooncup I have only felt it because I know it is there and I am thinking about it.
Without being to graphic when I last went to the toilet my cup had been in for about 4 hours so I was going to empty it but when I went for a wee it slipped down and would of probably slipped out if I hadn't removed it. It was quite full ( I would say almost up to the line where the little air holes are). Do you think this is why it moved because it was full and heavy or could it be that my muscles are just not strong enough to hold it in place.
I have the size A as I am over 30 and have had 3 children all SVD.
Also do I need to sterilise it between emptying or is washing it under hot water safe enough and sterilise it at the end of my period.
Thanks for your help0 -

i don't think so. i steralise mine in between periods but apart from that jsut rinse it (with really hot tap water if i'm at hope) or wipe it if i'm at work.
I love mine! I can 98% say i will never use tampons again - i am so so so happy i never have to feel that horrible scrapy feeling of when you remove a not full tampon again!
Also got some Popollini washable pads which are brilliant - they breath so much easier which means i don't feel so stinky... they do move around a little bit though if you're not paying attention after using the loo!

I've stopped using the Mooncup now. I had to cut off the long bit totally as it was rubbing so that's made it very difficult to remove especially in the morning when my back's stiff. Also, the pushing and poking made me feel queasy, too much like giving birth.
I might give them a call and talk about it as I really would loke to get along with it. I've heard here that Mooncup have very helpful staff who have good advice.:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0 -
Hi, i haven't been able to read all posts (a lot of them!) but i've heard a lot about mooncups, but i've been wary of using one. I'm alergic to rubber-natural and synthetic (so that includes latex) and i don't understand if silicone rubber is ok to use.... i emailed them to ask as people are saying it is ok to use if you have allergies etc but most people are only allergic to latex rubber. I'm allergic to any rubber-natural or made made/synthetic!
The lady from the mooncup website emailed back saying it isnt actually rubber-but on the website it definately said 'silicone RUBBER'....the name is obviously confusing me as it says rubber in it!
I can't risk putting rubber near me-especially my lasy bits! ouch!!! (remembering normal condoms....ouch and more ouch......)
Also i'm really sensitive, and worry it'll hurt to use? I haven't had a baby, and my bits seem fairly tight...
Hope someone can help/advise me!
