  • This is really interesting, I have never heard of this before, there is one question I would like to ask and I hope I dont embarass anyone.

When you are out in the day and you have to empty it, when taking it out does it make a mess on your fingers?

    Sorry to ask.

umm, i get a very small amount of mess, but...there's always going to be loo-roll around, and wash hands before/after and you'll be fine!

What holstar says - when necessary, I take moistened paper into the cubicle with me. Obviously everyone is different, but it's rare for me to have to empty it during working hours. But I find I have to use two hands for the manoeuvre - I learned the hard way that blithely removing it one-handed leads to Jackson Pollock murals on the wall!
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

Sounds disgusting to me! Much better to lobby MP's to remove to VAT on sanitary products. A work collegue even wrote to Margaret Thatcher when she was PM (Thinking she'd be sympathetic) but got nowhere. 17.5% is just not on!

Even with no VAT, it's much more economical to buy a mooncup. Not everyone fancies the idea, of course, but I wouldn't be without mine - have used it for a decade or so. Not bad for an investment of £10.

  • Think I am going to invest in one of these. Wished I heard of them sooner.

  • For those who can't be bothered going through the very long (and great) thread that BS has given us a link to, Peeweez make lovely washable sanitary pads. I haven't spent a penny on sanitary towels since I got them and they are more comfortable and more reliable than anything I've ever used.

Here is a link to their website.

These look more suitable than the mooncup for many of us.

Can you give us some more feedback?
    Are they bulky?
Can they be worn under anything?
Do they cope as well with heavy days as light?
Do they get you through the night?

    Thanks.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

I've got some of them and they are great. I've used them for about the last 4 periods and they feel really soft and comfy. You dont have to wash them separately, you can put them in with your regular clothes wash, and you can choose the level of padding inside them for weak or heavy flow.

They are not bulky other than that it's yes to all the other questions.
