I found this with the light coloured ones so ordered dark ones the second time. Sorry not to be of help. You could always try to soak in a mild milton solution and see if this helps????

How about making your own out of dark material? That way you can have them exactly as you want them.
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

I've tried that. Nevermind, perhaps I'll buy some net curtain whitener or something and see if that works.

This is going to sound horrible but does anyone know how to get the stains out of the washable pads? I've been using them for about the last 4 periods and they are all stained and look horrible.
salt and cold water may help when freshly stained, hot water tends to 'set' blood. Nile swears by milk for getting blood out of clothing. But my son presented me with a very bloody pillow at the weekend (nosebleed!) and it's now pristine after salt and cold water, followed by a hot wash and tumble dry. Trouble is it's a bit on the lumpy side, even tumbled with a tennis ball in the drier. Sorry, starting to ramble now ...

Yep i always soak fresh blood stains with cold water and salt. Get a cheap bucket, rinse them in cold water then soak them in cold water and salt for a good few hours before you wash them. I do this with other things and they always come up perfect again.

Tried looking a couple of days ago but none to be seen and didn't have time to ask.

Cant say i have seen any either, at £10 i would jump at it. Its the diva cup i know more about but cant see them any cheaper than £20, altho i know it works out a lot cheaper in the long term.

  • Tampons and sanitary towels cost us a small fortune through out the year not only financially but also health wise and environmentally.

About a year ago I discovered the Mooncup. This is a silicone cup which you insert inside yourself and empty out when you visit the bathroom. No need to worry about which tampon to use; whether you have enough; or where to dispose of it. It is easy to use and once you have got used to it, very comfortable.

For a one off payment of £17.99 you instantly have 10 years worth of sanitary protection. (This is about 6 months worth of tampons.) So not only are you saving money but you are saving the environment. It is also much healthier for your body because you are not exposed to the bleach in conventional products and they do not dry you out exposing you to thrush.

    Their web site is https://www.mooncup.co.uk

I've heard about the mooncup! and have previously visited the website ..But, I can't get used to the idea, it almost freaks me out.
Maybe I need to change the way I think about this sort of thing, it's an interesting product but for now-it's not for me.
    The £2.00 Coin Savers Club = approx £22.00  :j.. The 20p Savers Club = £17.80.

Boots Ac machines often give out coupons for sanitary products. Often able to get get points coupons against products too, so needn't cost too much.
