Rebob wrote:Good of you to update jellyhead! Thanks. Let us know more as soon as you hear about it. I know that if something can work without tablets its a good thing!
i have mine on order, the avon book also says using the magnet helped reduce acne in the younger trial group, so that's a bonus. it doesn't actually mention reducing blood flow in the avon book, that was just what i've been told anecdotally. i don't think i'll use mine straight away after the baby arrives, might wait a month or two but i'll definitely keep you all updated :-)52% tight0 -
I have received my mooncup today, and I'm also on my period, so thats convenient..... It is a bit daunting, but honestly, it is simple to use. Always keep washing your hands and wet the cup and 'pop' it in, lol.... I am using a towel just to be on the safe side until I get used to it, but havent had any leakage yet. Oh, I'm so glad about this, I found that tampons were leaving fibres in last two months, ewwww.....
Thanks for the advice everyone x0 -
AussieLass wrote:Yeah, the magnet thingy is in our new catalogue as well. I can't imagine it working but who knows. Bit pricey to find out. Before seeing it in the book I had never heard of it. A lot of women who suffer greatly will try anything and I supppose this is how they make their profit. I tried the mooncup a few years ago and it just wasn't for me as well.
FWIW I had a magnet a couple of years back - sometimes it seemed to help and not other times - I now wonder how much of that was in my head.
I suffer painful periods and now use supplements to help balance the hormones creating the problem as suggested in Chris Northrups book Wisdom of Menopause - I wish someone had known this and told me years ago - having them all my adult life has caused me so much problem and stress.
This book and my personal experience also highlights how important good nutrition is in supporting my body, mind and emotions to function well and reduce stress which (IMHO) contribute to life 'problems'

Sorry, Sabbykins, I've just read your post. I dry my washable towels on a radiator rack in the bedroom. I love using them but don't much fancy leaving them on the line or livingroom radiator for everyone to see!
I don't have a tumble dryer so don't know how they'd be but you can wash them at 60 degrees if needed so I suppose they'd be fine in the dryer. They dry really quickly though cos they're suprisingly slimline. :jMay all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Thanks Gingham RibbonGingham_Ribbon wrote:I love using them but don't much fancy leaving them on the line or livingroom radiator for everyone to see!
Me neither!
I might order some then. I guess i'll have to get one of those radiator dryers- they seem handy though, so it will be useful for drying other things too.
I'm about a week away from mooncup- Month 2 (the sequel!! ha ha) I'm a bit wary because i got quite a bit of leakage, which i think was due to wrong positioning. I have discovered that i need to insert then tip it downwards slightly, and that way it stays well in position. When i put it in 'straight up' it works its way down and is uncomfortable, but when i tilt it, i can't even feel it.
I was told by a midwife that i have a tilted uterus which is probably why. Anyone else got the same problem?Wins to date since Aug 2008: Book 'Life with my sister Madonna' (My 1st win!) | Garnier Eye Roll On | (Sept) Wall e Robot| (Oct) £110 worth Miller Harris Perfume!|

I have to put it in at an angle as well other wise it doesnt unfold properly. I also found that after inserting it I make sure it rotates this helps it unfold better and makes sure its positioned correctly.0

It makes sense that it should go in at an angle as where it's erm going is tilted towards your back rather than going straight up. This is the same for using tampons or diaphragms, they're easier to use if you aim towards the small of your back.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

Yes, me too.
I also have had quite a lot of leakage but only on heaviest days (just done month 3). Seems to leak because it has tilted or twisted, not really sure - but definitely not full up when leakage occurs.
Did a bit of googling and on another chat forum found someone else with a tilted uterus saying that she'd been advised to insert higher up so nearer to the cervix. It certainly seemed to help me but not sure whether it was because of the new positioning, or just because the flow had decreased. Will find out next month!

This was the website, some quite interesting comments on there, might help others.0 -
I bought one of the mooncups after the generally positive comments made on this product. It arrived this week, at just the right time. I've found it dead easy to use, no problems at all, no leakage. I'm really pleased with the product0

Ordered some more lovely towels from Peeweez. Postman tried to deliver them when I was out and they have 'lost' my package.
I'm not impressed on 3 counts.
1) They would have been beneficial to me today!!!
2) It's a bit personal and I don't want anyone at the post office opening it!
3) My postman has already seen my boob as I opened the door after breastfeeding while still erm on display without realising. (Baby tiny at time and I was in a bit of a muddle to say the least!) I dont' think I need him knowing any more about me!
PS Peeweez really helpful and I'm sure if I need to claim the money back from post office they will help.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
