Oh I don't know..............Him trying to set up another hamper company could just be his final downfall. Lots of people are watching.

I reported him to Companies House, who are now investigating. There should be enough evidence to suggest that he deliberately misspelt his name so that his 2 companies wouldn't be connected, and that he's run his company improperly for the second time (including trading while insolvent).

They can then prosecute and revoke the limited company status rendering him personally liable for the company's debts. Oh, and ban him from the directorship of any future companies.

    In short, he's sunk.

I have just spent ages reading through this thread, I had no idea that this had happened, how awful for everyone who was relying on these hampers for Christmas presents.

To be honest, I was going to order six as presents, but then decided against hampers, thank goodness for that:eek:

Hope everyone gets their refunds sorted out.

I suppose ultimately it is better to stick to the likes of M&S, Waitrose, BHS etc for hampers because at least they should be reliable and they do reduce them leading up to Christmas.

I certainly won't be ordering from Norfolk or Suffolk Hamper Company, ever!

Well I'm back in the world of the living all be it one handed for the time being and am now ready to take on the task of getting my money back!
I had a letter from my bank saying that I should raise the claim with Paypal directly and if I'm declined to contact the bank again with proof of the decline received and then they'll assist me (don't know what they mean by that but hoping they mean they'll refund the money!).
So now I'm in an awkward situation. I raised a claim with Paypal at the time, but then received 2 hampers so then cancelled the claim as I thought all would be well (stupidly I now know) so I can't reopen the claim with Paypal to get the declined message. So what do I do now? Should I print out all the info about Paypal not looking into disputes over 45 days old and take it from there? Or contact Paypal and see if they'll send me an email saying my claim is declined? Then I can print out info on Visa chargebacks and use the template previously mentioned on this thread.
Sorry for the long message but not really sure how to proceed. Want to sort it out whilst I'm off work as I have time on my hands! (excuse my pun (had a carpal tunnel op!))
    Thanks for any help x

 Neil(l) norfolk / suffolk /gift baskets who ever he claims to be - in what ever state he claims to have the business in IE in receivership/ not in receivership / done a moonlight flit
isn't gonna come back waving a white flag begging for forgiveness pleading all innocence with the trading standards fully behind him and his crackpot idea;s that hes a good man and its everyone elses fault and holding a wad full of peoples cash which he plans to give back with interest

So try all avenues you can think off open to you
go down all routes if u can, start off with PayPal see what they have to say then if the answer is no, try the bank/charge-back route

and good luck and hopefully succeeding and hope your hand gets better too hunni x
  • Hi I too bought this offer from Neil even met him at ideal home show seemed like a nice fella lol (i'v always been a bad judge of character).
Bought via paypal for the 12 plus 12 deal and received six hampers of varying types. Just phoned Tesco credit card which i linked to my paypal for this very reason rather than my bank account. They were very helpful and are going to send me a form to sign and will then try a charge back so hopefully ill be able to get something back as my sister gave me half the money for half the goods. If I dont get my money back Ill take it on the chin but have learnt a couple of valuable lessons, don't pay for things so far in advance and that Im glad my credit card is linked to my Paypal as it seems to offer better protection than a bank account.

As for Neil as Im sure he is reading this thread you seemed a nice bloke who was trying hard to establish a business but you were a wolf in sheeps clothing. I hope karma catches up with you.

  • I am really pleased, just checked my Barclays Debit account and have received a full refund via charge back for my hamper purchases, even though I did get some of my hampers.
All my payments were out of the 45 day pay pal limit, and did not claim until after the company ceased trading as I was one of the few people that actually thought I would get the rest of my hampers . ( I realise how foolish I was now, and will be much more cautious in future!)
Good luck, to everyone else and I must say Barclays were very helful when I eventually got to the correct deparment!

I hope you don't mind me asking, was it a visa debit charge back or a direct debit chargeback, it's just that Halifax totally refused to credit me back a direct debit chargeback (not a visa debit) and claimed that it's a banking wide policy, not just theirs. So If your claim was a direct debit claim, I might go back to them.

I paid with pay pal using my visa debit card and the money came straight out of my bank account. I didn't realise there were different ways of using a debit card to fund pay pal.
