And there is no telephone number....odd for a company who have been trading since March 2012?!. Also they would have to be registered with companies house by now - and this one isn't. It is illegal not to within your first 3 months of becoming a business
That is completely incorrect soletraders do not register with companies house:

Perhaps we should all email "Suffolk Hampers" as concerned parties to warn them of our experience with NH Co and alert them to the possibility they *may* appear to be the same company - that'll get Neil worried if it is another Neil-enterprise rising from the ashes of all our downfalls!0 -
I think earlier in the thread someone found a Suffolk Hampers company registered to Neil with one of the spellings of his name he was using.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

If you are a soletrader setting up a business you do not register your business/trading name with companies house. And many if not most smaller businesses start off as soletraders.
sorry I thought this was a LTD company. Just realised it's not in the title24 beers in a case - 24 hours in a day. Coincidence? :beer:0 -

Agreed, there's an awful lot of repeated spelling mistakes. Hampers are a lot more expensive than they were with the NHC.
As someone has said, this could well be a totally unconnected business, but without a registered address or contact telephone number can't see it getting many orders.
I was one of the many waiting for this new cheque book to turn up. Neil did give the offer of a refund direct into my bank last week but I certainly wasn't comfortable giving him any bank details. I'd sooner be chasing this up via the credit card company.
Think the worst part of all of this is that the insolvency email didn't really come as a shock.
The site was up and running this morning, I'd logged in to see if my order status had changed from Processing - I bet you could have even placed orders.
Sad fact is that if I did decide to order Christmas Hampers this year I'll go with one of the big companies - things like this end up putting you off dealing with any of little businesses who end up struggling more than ever.0 -
The suffolk-hampers.com domain is owned by neil alvey according to this whois page...

The co.uk page? Dunno, just an address if you search on that site0 -

It is on NHC website that they stopped trading today so tell them that. If the person you speak to at CC company does not know what a chargeback is, ask them to put you through to somebody who does.
When did you make your payment? What date? I think you have 120 days to do this, but I believe this is from when you knew there was a problem with your order , not date of transaction.
The main reason you can carry out a chargeback on both debit card and credit card is breach of contract which this definately is. If you persevere you will get your money back.
Good Luck
