IMHO I think the thing that has got most people's backs up is that he continues to play the victim.
He is the instigator of this fiasco and his customers are the victims.
If he held up his hands and said "Sorry I messed up and I will do all I can to remedy it", I think it would go a long way.
Yes, he does now appear to be trying to remedy the situation but it is still coupled with his 'woe is me' attitude which is not helping.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

I think you have this spot on. This type of thinking / personality style is not conducive to running a business….. results in stress/mental illness for self and damage to customer relations. Time for some realistic balanced thinking or at least taking advice from someone who can offer this.0 -
Very erudite Clutterfree well said.0

It would be so easy to run a business, if it were not for the 'pesky' customers.........
Perhaps we should set up a telethon asking for donations to the 'Poor Neil had a cxxp christmas fund'.0 -

Only and only since Trading Standards, the Police, Citizens Advice, Paypal, banks and the media have got involved.
This wasn't a voluntary action as he could have sorted issues well before it was escalated. He's being forced into abiding with the law when previously he had the audacity to offer a credit note!!
He took a chance by spamming MSE and he didn't realise MSE is not just a site, it's a community. He took a chance by sending out sub-standard products (not even hampers), he took a chance on sending out less than advertised ....................... he took a chance time and time again.
He's nothing more than a CHANCER who has lied and let down a lot of people, some who are sadly housebound and some who couldn't afford to replace non-delivered items.
His business is finished, his business and his reputation is tarnished. Google his business name and you will see how wrecked it is.
I would love to see another post on MSE though promoting his deals. :rotfl:
Hope all refunds are quickly sorted without the need to go via the legal route and cause a further delay. Hope all returns for sub-standard items and shortfalls are paid by the "culprit" and as the law states.
Good luck to all that were badly "screwed".

Completely had enough of this now
In the same boat as many on here - hampers due before Christmas and despite many assurances that they would be here on time - nothing. Calim raised with Paypal and email sent to Neil on 22nd December cancelling my order and asking for a full refund of £115 - giving him 5 working days to respond. Luckily I was within the 45 days for a Paypal claim so have also gone down that route and my case is due to be reviewed by Paypal tomorrow. I have gone away to visit family over Christmas and I have been informed that I have a card from UK Mail at home. I rang UK Mail Norwich Office this morning to check whether the attempted delivery was from Neil and they have confirmed that it is and that my neighbour signed for it yesterday morning. I fully intended to refuse delivery as Christmas hampers are of absolutely no use to me now and I have no desire to continue with a 12 month hamper contract
I have no idea what has been delivered as I will not be home until Sunday. I have emailed Neil again and confirmed that I wish to cancel my order as per my email on 22nd December and that the hampers will remain unopened for him to collect at his own expense. I am now stressed and worried as the basis for my paypal claim is non delivery of goods. As I said, my paypal claim is due for review tomorrow. I dont want to change or cancel my claim with Paypal as I have not even seen what has been delivered, however I am concerned that my Paypal claim is now not 100% correct and I dont want any problems further down the line due to this (although strictly speaking I have still not received anything personally as I am not there...)
Any suggestions/help/advice very welcome.....
Thanks xx0 -

Completely agree. When TS visited he said he was sorting refunds, yet no refunds appeared until after Christmas, and then only a couple. I presume that's so he has a bit of proof to offer when asked about refunds, so he can continue to drag this on.There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

No hampers, outside of 45 days to get a resolution on PayPal, no reply to any of my emails and no refund.0
