What Email address is everyone contacting him on please
I've sent emails to the sales@thenorfolkhampercompany.co.uk and also copied in the norfolkhampers@mailer01.com one. He has replied from the first one.0 -
True to his word, I have had a full refund today.
Yesterday I sent another email, this time I had a reply. I forwarded to him my previous emails, in which I'd used some harsh words. He seemed very genuinely upset by this.
He promised me a refund today, I was out of the 45 day paypal window so I said I'd give him my bank details. He responded by saying he would pay into my account this morning. And, as I've said he has done just that.
Having spoken to him, I do think that he started off trying to grow his business too quickly and has got himself into a right old pickle. I don't think he started out wanting to let anyone down or to defraud people. I also think he is trying to sort it out but there has been a bit of head in the sand going on. I also think he does genuinely want to get you all refunded or to get your orders, if he had a magic wand he'd do it all now, I do hope given a little time he will refund each and every one of you or get you the orders if you still want them.
Honestly, if I lived closer I would drive up there and start going through the outstanding orders and email everyone with a plan. Sadly I don't. I hope he will start to do that for you all though, I think he does want to.
So, Neil, if you are reading, please do get in touch with your customers. Say sorry and give them a realistic promise of how you will resolve the problems. Most people are very reasonable when they are communicated with. I'm sorry for calling you a conman, I don't believe that is the case anymore.
I really do hope this whole situation gets better from now on. I have a feeling it might
I'm really glad that my Dad and Inlaws accepted their hamper yesterday and did not refuse as other people have, as it made their day and I look forward to them receiving the rest.
I never once believed he was a con-man and I really hope he can pull through this, even with all the refunds and paying out for deliveries not accepted.Have lots more ‘Pending’
But total money I’ve received from Cashback Sites by performing 'Daily Clicks' is ;
APRIL 2007 - JAN 2008 = £2,800:money:0 -
Just to update you all..... I sent Neil an e-mail earlier today requesting a full refund to my credit card within 7 days, he has e-mailed me back and told me that he will issue me with a cheque for the full amount.
I DON'T THINK SO NEIL - IT WILL NO DOUBT BOUNCE!!!!
I have mailed him back and requested that the refund is to my card and given him 7 days to do this or further action will take place.
I e-mail the sales@ address.
Thanks.....0 -
Update part 2 ........ he is not able to do refunds at the moment by paypal or credit card. I have asked him to send me the cheque but clearly stated that if it bounces then legal action will continue!0

Give the man a chance to sort things out - I am sure we all made a mistake sometime in our lives.
From posts today it looks like he is contacting people so just wait and see.
And yes before anyone asks I did but some hampers and yes I did not get all of them0 -
You should all hear yourselves.
You should be ashamed. Baying for blood over something as petty as a food hamper! A food hamper! If I was your family member receiving this "gift" I would refuse it because, who gives a food hamper as a gift.
1985 Called they want their Christmas present back.
As for the way you have treated this poor chap, you should all take a look in the mirror and hopefully you'll be as disgusted by your behaviour as I am.
Good to see the christmas spirit is alive and well in you all.
Lets hope you don't bump into Tiny Tim today, lord knows what you'll do to him
With the greatest of respect USAMike, far from being gifts stuck in the 1980s, the hamper market has evolved considerably in recent years and they remain popular Christmas gifts. Check out http://www.brandrepublic.com/news/90916/
I was born in the 1980s but know many people of my generation who happily send and receive hampers. They are far more practical than a novelty jumper during a time when there are often many more mouths to feed (incidentally, novelty Christmas jumpers are very popular again, too - partly because they are an ironic throw-back).
Rather than launching into an attack of all of the people (myself included) who have suffered as a result of the complete mismanagement of this business, first consider the facts.
These were not competition wins. We have all shelled out money - at times considerable amounts - for goods which have not been received. It doesn't matter whether we are waiting for old-fashioned (in your eyes) hampers, socks, or the services of a window cleaner.....one man has received thousands of pounds as payment for goods but in many cases has failed to either send these goods to customers or refund money.
I assume you have not bought any hampers - you're obviously a far more trendy present-chooser...so humour me. Imagine you bought some of your Christmas presents online - let's say in Amazon. If Amazon took your money weeks (maybe months) in advance, but then never sent your presents (leaving you without Christmas presents for certain people) failed to offer you any kind of explanation, didn't respond to your emails and THEN didn't even refund you money, can you honestly say that you wouldn't be mad?
If your answer is 'yes' then I can only surmise that you have more money than sense.
And, incidentally, Tiny Tim was impoverished and hardly capable of conning thousands of pounds out of people, given his illness (although it's only ever alluded to, one suspects it was probably polio).
I suggest you re-read Dickens and perhaps work on being more empathetic in the New Year....0 -
Please give Neil a chance the problem came when he let people on the last offer have all their hampers in one go just be patient and lets hope the business stay open I want to make more purchases I am happy with what I have got and before you think I AM NOT working or have anything to do with NHC.0

No, the problem came when he kept exceeding the limits for his deals, then doing more, then getting them posted on a site with millions of users, and needing the money from the new deals to pay for the goods for older deals, and not having any systems in place to deal with orders and stock!Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

cutho, we really are giving him a chance. People might call me foolish, but I am still chasing my hampers rather than a refund. Some were intended for a homeless centre where I work and I don't want to let them down. I personally don't think Neil is malicious - he might well have had the best intentions at first - but he has certainly got himself into a pretty major pickle, and hasn't dealt with it well subsequently.
Surely you can appreciate that those of us waiting are checking for news every day (as you were before your hampers arrived) and with every new day comes a new disappointment...so of course tempers are starting to fray. I am normally an incredibly patient person. But my feathers are starting to ruffle.
No matter how nice he is/how lovely his business looks/how hard he is trying, you'd have to be a saint to be patient for very much longer than this... Even an email from Neil would help calm the situation - he's really not doing himself any favours.
I will try to continue to be patient, cutho, but I can't make any promises I'm afraid!0
