That's terrible. Doesn't even look like a signature. Plus Carter? Really?

That's quite good for some. You should have seen the signature of the numpty at Electronic Arts who signed for a defective copy of FIFA 13. It looked like a spider with diarrhoea had shat it's way across the page. :D

He's just replied apologising and saying he is posting a cheque out to me. I'd emailed him and queried how he was going to repay by Paypal if his account has been closed down.

Is this where i put a smart comment about how odd it is that he has replied to you?

Why, he now appears to be responding to a handful of actual customers rather than a totally unconnected third party?

He appears to be doing what he said he would (albiet a bit late) ie, start responding on a case by case basis.

  • I'm thrilled some are being promised refunds through the sending of cheques. It must put some minds at rest.

Please though bear in mind that

    1. The cheque has to arrive and there is a bank holiday ahead.

    2. The cheque has to clear, and again, there is a bank holiday ahead.

Assuming all goes well, the cheque is received and paid in by Wednesday at the probable earliest, with 5 working days clearance, that means funds would not be available until the 8/9th January at the earliest. Almost 2 weeks before you see any money.

It could be genuine, but it could also be another instance of buying time. The cheques may not materialise, nor may they clear. Bear that in mind.

Usually refunds are processed by the method they were made. Clearly there are issues with this, otherwise why send a cheque?

Please cover yourselves by continuing to take the appropriate action via Paypal if you can, Chargeback if you can, or advice from Citizens advice or Trading Standards.

There's too much 'not right' about his whole sorry saga and it has caused no end of stress for a considerable number of people.

    Just be careful.

I agree with cupcake and would certainly leave any claims or legal action open until such time that any cheque repayments have not only been received, but cleared as well.

My only experience is with paypal, and if you close any claim there you cannot re open it later.

Fingers crossed that all is well with these refunds , when they arrive, for you all.

I understand that you have the urge to smugly say "I told you so" but it has taken me four emails and a recorded delivery letter to get a response, and I'm still not sure that he has a system in place as it all seems so random. And I won't be fully satisfied until that cheque has cleared my bank.

Received my 2 hampers today (delivered yesterday but was away for xmas) - they weren't what I had ordered but they were 2 just add cheese hampers, which I'm more than pleased with. Just wonder what to do now as I'm happy to continue as long as I get my other hampers throughout the year (don't even mind if they're delayed)! I'm concerned that the business will fold and I'll get nothing back then. Decisions, decisions....

Did someone say they had received EIGHT hampers yesterday???

I am sure I read that but cant find it now.

Any more info on the whats and wherefores of that exceptional delivery?

    Thanks for posting!!

Did you receive the right hampers and where they what you expected?

    Hi,

Apologies, just come back to the thread.

I received the two I had asked for - Christmas ones - one came in a tray and the other in a little basket. I'm sure that something is missing from the basket, but I can't think what.

I also received two 'Just Cheese' baskets - one with the cellophane slightly torn.

Then, I have four more little baskets (very cute, I have to say) - two galaxy ones (full, but no idea if correct contents, as not what I had asked for) and two more christmas ones - again, with exactly the same contents as the first one.

I really don't know know what is going on, other than I am going to be eating christmas pudding well into July! :rotfl:

I haven't sent an email to Neil yet - not sure what to do! Any thoughts?
