I have had an email with a slight update. All i can say is that the refund process is meant to be starting tomorrow.

It's very strange that he can update someone who isn't a customer but can't update his actual customers. Are you a member of trading standards. Is that why he is replying to you

neillalvey@googlemail.com.This id the email add I have from his receipts

I never got a receipt - should have realised then what a terrible company this was at that point.

IMO the next thing that will happen this week is that people will receive substandard, badly packed, far too late hampers that were posted way too late for Christmas Deliveries.

Let's face it, who wants Christmas goodies the week after Christmas? This always worried me with the "christmas period" timescale that he quoted.

I also think it is extremely rude not to refund immediately! There are 1000's of people at work today and a refund to give these people back the money that he has had for MONTHS deserves immediate attention and not something to be on a "to do" list!

Not at all. He has made a !!!!-up.

But he is just one man...

If the one man has to spend time replying to emails the same man cannot be trying to get out as many hampers as possible. Its the pitfall of a small business.

    So would you rather:
    A) Him reply to your email stating he is working on the order and he hopes to have it to you before xmas
    B) He doesnt reply and moves his butt to actually try and get it to you before xmas?

Rather he sen out a generic email to everyone he has an email forapologising and explaining what he is trying to make it right. One generic email with a list of thins he can do for people such as refund if they want it and paste it to all email addresses. Should t take too long though I understand their may be hundreds of people let down to contact

for somebody who is allegedly just a "concerned bystander" your posts seem to suggest you have a lot of sway with this Neil person. You suggest that until a few days ago you had never met him, yet you seem to know a lot about his business and now you seem to be his close business advisor, telling him what to do.

I'm sorry but by the things you are posting I simply cannot believe you when you say you are unconnected. I think you are far closer to this company than you are prepared to say - their 'mouthpiece' in effect. I think you have been sent on here to try and calm the troubled waters and effect damage limitation.

Some people may be taken in by you, but I can see it for what it is.
I have to say i agree with you.I think Neil is buying for time he does plan to go on holiday[ so of course he wont be able to do any thing then and in turn trading standards etc wont be able to contact him] and when he returns from hes holiday i think he will go bankrupt have no assets and a lot of people will be out of pocket.I think it was hes plan from day one and the only thing he did not plan for was the power of MSE so all the publicity has come as a unwelcome shock to hes plan and he is trying to slow things down.My advise would be to continue with what ever action you plan to take for your refunds while you can.

    morning :)

up till now I didn't really comment on here(but read every single post!) nor was I shouting at this joke of a 'businessman' to get my hampers to me simply because:
-I wasn't in hurry and like I told him as long as they're with me BY 21st of December I'll be fine
-they weren't meant to be xmas pressies(well they would be extra ones if they arrived but it's not like I now have to go and replace them)

I ordered the 12+12 deal in November and Neil said I can have 4 the first week of December and possibly more(I asked for 12 before xmas) for later delivery which I said is fine. As you probably guessed I'm still sitting here with none... I escalated my paypal claim on Saturday but not sure how much of a chance for the money back...

HOWEVER I really feel for those who were let down and can not afford to loose this money :( I hope this clown gets what he deserves!

As for those who got their orders(lucky few!) and keep sticking up for him: really?!?!?! I think it's obvious he let most of the customers down(be it suppliers issues/couriers or whatever) and he should do the decent thing to answer emails/calls and issue refunds asap! As many said before the worst bit is all the LIES he kept telling...

I also would like to apologise to candy222 for thinking her warnings were ott :A I know we were all hoping for a nice deal and didn't want to listen but if she only put off a few people ordering from Neil she saved them lots of stress and money :T I'm well jel of them :rotfl:

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas :)

Thank you for this post.I would just like to say that i hope everyone will receive a full refund.
