Thanks ppc_guy at least you are managing to speak to him on our behalf, & I'm sure people are pleased that you are giving us up to date information as soon as you get it...
It may not be what people are wanting to hear in some cases but at least it's current thanks for taking the time out to do it

I have had an email with a slight update. All i can say is that the refund process is meant to be starting tomorrow.

Maybe he has a little Spanish ancestry??

Seriously though, this Guy has wrecked his business and will be heaping pressure on his family also. No doubt it's not just his "customers" that have suffered. I hope his kids don't suffer because of his "stupidity".

We'll see, but those affected rightly will doubt any so called promises.

has there been a trading standards or company update? i have not received a general email from the company so I have no idea what it says and can't see it posted on here. My order was placed in november for 24 hampers (2 a month) starting in December. I did not get anything, I have not had a response or reply to anything recently and I filed the paypal claim ages ago now and have to wait until Jan for them to do something. So for now my hands seem to be tied but after embarrassingly not having some presents i needed i just want my money back to now buy replacements ASAP

    I agree.

but at least i have an open line of conversation with him.

    Hi all

I haven't posted before as I actually received the 2 deals I ordered (the ltd edition hamper) way back on the 10th December albeit not as advertised. But I have been following the thread with interest.

I am now REALLY courious to know why the only person who can actually make contact with the company is ppc_guy, who be his/her own admission has not actually purchased a hamper.

Surely the company would be better off talking to the people they have actually let down.
It's the thought that counts.......I think a lot!

for somebody who is allegedly just a "concerned bystander" your posts seem to suggest you have a lot of sway with this Neil person. You suggest that until a few days ago you had never met him, yet you seem to know a lot about his business and now you seem to be his close business advisor, telling him what to do.

I'm sorry but by the things you are posting I simply cannot believe you when you say you are unconnected. I think you are far closer to this company than you are prepared to say - their 'mouthpiece' in effect. I think you have been sent on here to try and calm the troubled waters and effect damage limitation.

Some people may be taken in by you, but I can see it for what it is.
  • I am one of his customers that will not be putting in a claim as I was fortunate to get my expected hampers just a bit late.
I have paid for another 40 hampers throughout the year so I am interested to see how things progress and hopefully not end up out of pocket.
I do think he has buried his head in the sand throughout December just hoping that things would get better, but it got worse and worse!
I hope he gets the correct help to sort things out, but remember he is human and we all make mistakes. It's how we say sorry and make amends that's important.
I do hope he refunds everyone entitled to one for their sake as well as for the benefit of his family and his company.

I think the time for a simple sorry has long gone, that should have been a personalised response on Christmas Eve to everyone who did not get their hampers at the expected time.

Incidentally, if this business does stop trading how did you pay, are you in a position to recover any outstanding monies?

I'm sorry I agree with others. For someone who was merely 'intrigued' by this fiasco you ain't half 'involved'. Ironically you are the only one getting replies to your emails whilst the rest of us await a reply. So he can use his other email but not his business one to try and rectify his errors. Your email must be like the bat phone. And again I point out that he shouldn't be needing to take advice from a bystander. An experienced man would know all about consumer rights etc

I believe you may want to help him or these customers but keep updating on here how you are getting replies and what he supposedly is going to do really will start to wind people up more than what they are
24 beers in a case - 24 hours in a day. Coincidence?

I and all the others on here ppc-guy appreciate your efforts. We really do.

However, I'm still awaiting my personal email rather than a circular.., I still haven't heard a single person on here say they have received one. He was supposed to be doing that from Xmas eve onwards. Surely he's had time to contact a single person out of the many who post on here.

Personally I think the refunds will go the same way.

I wasn't saying you were duped in terms of having bought a hamper u'll never get. That obviously is not the case. Really appreciate your efforts. They could have worked. But also need to keep your eyes open to what has been said on here, what has been said (by him more importantly) and keep your eyes open to the fact that he could well be a con merchant.

There are at least two posters on here (I'm sure there are more, that's all I remember) that have been waiting for hampers considerably longer than since the launch of the Christmas hamper deals. That worries me more than anything in terms of how he deals with things i.e. past behaviour is predictictive of future behaviour.

I hope he will give refunds.., but I don't think he will.

UPDATE: I have now received an email apologising and saying he will do a refund. Not sure why it can't be set in motion today.., but we'll see what happens.
  • I paid with pay pal but will be out of the 45 day time limit. I am not due any hampers now until the end of February, so it's a waiting game for me.
I sadly went to the funeral of my sister in law on Christmas eve and perhaps this has made me look at things in a different light. I don't wish his family especially his kids to suffer for his mistake.
