Jellyhead, cani ask if the photo you have taken is the entire contents of one of the sweet hampers, or is it just a selection of what is in one of them.?
It's the entire contents - it doesn't look like much when it's spread out on the table I know. Around £4 worth? It looks good in the hamper though and I know my nephew will be thrilled with his. The galaxy hamper contains a lot more, but I still think the sweet hamper's ok as a gift. The giant parma violets have wow factor
The other deal I bought was cheaper per hamper, and the contents are worth more in my opinion. I'm still pleased with this one though.52% tight0 -

I know it is a great deal but i can't help but be a little shocked a the lack of contents. Just looked on the website and the retro sweet hamper SHOULD contain the following. This is the thing i was kinda expecting when mine get delivered in December.

100g Cola Bottles
100g Fried Eggs
100g Jelly Babies
100g Milkshakes
100g Jelly Beans
100g Strawberry Hearts
5 x Liquorice Wheels
2 x Candy Necklace
5 x Gob Stoppers
6 x Fizzers
6 x Parma Violets
8 x Refresher Chews
5 x Drumstick Lollies
5 x Double Candy Lollies
4 x Mini Love Heart Rolls
2 x Candy Whistle
1 x Mega Drumstick Lolly
1 x Mega Double Candy Lolly
2 x Giant Rainbow Dust Straws
2 x Pack Candy Sticks
2 x Fizz Wizz Popping Candy
1 x Double Dip Sherbet

I was thinking that but then i wondered if this was one of the deals maybe it was for a slightly smaller hamper? there was a deal for a galaxy and a retro hamper and then one free of each awhile back but maybe it wasn't quite the £30 one (altho the galay one does seem to have the same as the £30 galaxy one)DEC GC £463.67/£450

It's not the same as the £30 retro hamper, but I think they'd probably go out of business if they sent those out with these deals. It's a small company and I like to support smaller companies - I would buy this if I saw it on a stall at the christmas market or in a sweet shop. There's a sweet shop in my town centre that sells a similar thing but theirs is in a plastic box while this is in a reusable hamper. The 'quarter of' deal that my husband was looking at last week (for himself!) was in a cardboard box. I really think that these being in a hamper gives it a luxurious feel that you don't get with plastic or cardboard boxes.
You can see in my first picture that when you open up the tissue the sweets come up to the top and it looks like there's a lot.
Somebody's told the shop owner that I was negative about the hampers, so I'd just like to say that I am very happy with them and I would order them again if there was anyone else on my christmas list to buy for. I think it's a great gift, and the amount of sweets really don't look disappointing when you open up the hamper.
I'd hate for the shop owner to get any negative feedback due to my photos because I was genuinely happy with my hampers :T

I loved these as a child and i had huge cravings for them in my last pregancy... god bless ebay :rotfl:
I understand what your saying but if they say we can pick £30 hampers we would expect them to be the £30 hampers on the site, however am i right in thinking yours was a different deal so you weren't expecting a £30 hamper anyway.DEC GC £463.67/£450

I think i was just a bit shocked as to what was inside, i was expecting it to be the same as what is listed in the retro hamper. It just doesn't look much and certainly is not what the deal said you would get.
If they say you get a retro sweet hamper than to be honest that is what most people would expect to get. There would be a few people i expect who if they received anything less would complain. That is definitely NOT what a small company needs. It wouldn't take long for the word to get around that you don't get what is listed or what you see which in turn could affect sales.
However from my point of view even though they are smaller than what i thought you would get i would like you still buy from them. The hamper itself would cost quite a bit to buy separately. Plus the fact i haven't got the time or the patience to put them together myself.:rotfl:0 -
I cancelled my order today (nothing to do with anybody's photos). I spent the weekend worrying about the money I'd spent on it. I'd have wanted to be able to get all 12 hampers sent to various addresses before Christmas to justify the cost. If I was honest with myself, I didn't need it either as I've bought most of my gifts.
I may still buy the cheese hamper for myself though, and will look out for other smaller offers from them in the future.0 -

Did you buy the chocolate and sweet hamper deal, I was thinking about getting this, but the picture (although tiny) shows a lot more sweets than you got in your hamper?0
