  • Norfolk Hamper Company - Update

Norfolk County Council Trading Standards Officers this morning visited the premises of the Norfolk Hamper Company.

Having visited the company, Officers have been assured by the company that, whilst they can’t guarantee it, they are working hard to and ensure all existing orders are delivered by December 24.

The company say that they have closed their shop and are not currently responding to calls or emails as they are concentrating on fulfilling outstanding orders, the company says it has a courier working Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The company has reassured Officers that once they have processed the remaining orders that they will deal with complaints about missing or substituted items, undelivered orders and will process refunds.

For those that do not receive their order, or if their order contains missing or poorly substituted items, then the company have assured us that they will provide refunds.

Norfolk County Council Trading Standards will continue to work to resolve issues that some customers have experienced.

It is important that if you do not receive a delivery as promised or receive hampers with missing or substituted items to report your complaints to our partners at Citizens Advice consumer helpline on 08454 04 05 06 or via their online form https://ssl.datamotion.com/form.aspx?co=3438&frm=citacomplainform&to=flare.fromforms.

They will provide you with advice about what you can do and what you are entitled to. They will also continue to collate information and pass this to us to act upon where necessary.

We have also prepared a Consumer Advice Fact Sheet to assist consumers who have had issues with the Norfolk Hamper Company. This will be available from our website https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/consumeradvice from late this afternoon (21/12/12)

Looks like they've spun the same old story to Norfolk trading standards. Still at least someone official has been and given them a nudge.

  • Have asked Trading Standards if they have checked exactly WHO the delivery companies are as I suspect this is the same waffle and !!!!!!!! we have been fed all along.
Interesting to note that they now CANNOT guarantee delivery by 24th Dec.

    Back from school run!

Lucy was from the The Great Yarmouth Mercury and similar to the other poster who had contact she just wanted to hear about my orders and my circumstances.

Was great venting to her as I think my husband is fed up of hearing me go on (:o).

She said they were going to run a story and asked if I minded my details/comments being included.

I think this could be a good move because i think there will be a lot more people out there who maybe paid for hampers at the ideal home show etc and are in the same boat but dont know what to do regarding refunds etc. maybe thinking they are the only one without a hamper and with no idea of the scale of the problem .
  • there might also be people who have ordered a hamper to go direct to person having the gift. and dont know what is going on too
