I paid via Paypal as well but that didn't seem to matter. Maybe it's because mine was a one off payment for the festive special and not for x number of hampers over x number of months. That's the only thing I can think of.

Worth a try with your bank I think.

Mine is a one off hamper deal too, but PayPal is a direct debit on my bank account so anything I buy using PayPal comes out as a direct debit.
I am with First Direct so might be different with others (although thinking about it, PayPal was a direct debit when I was with Halifax too)

the hampers over the year are also a one off payment they took the payment for the hampers all in one go prior to anything being sent - in my case £114.99
  • by just going by this thread, there are thousands of pounds worth of hampers unforfilled

for me most of the money was from a paypal balance and then a small section of it is a bank transfer (I think they call it an e-cheque). how payment is taken makes no difference that i can see as paypal took £114.99 then take their commision and then the remaining balance is in the norfolk hampers paypal account (unless they then transfer it out). If paypal have taken the money and no goods delivered of course anyone must be entitled to a full refund?
  • Did you get a copy of the direct debit guarantee thingy when Paypal did this? If not could you say it was an unauthorised DD as you did not want a direct debit to this company
  • I nearly ordered hampers myself , Im glad I didnt but Im reading all the posts , Im sorry for those who have been let down so badly and at this time of year when money is stretched even further to the limit .
Didnt someone say there had been a long break between his last business and this one due to bad health ? Can anyone verify that ?
My sympathies to all and I hope despite this saga you have a lovely Christmas .

My circumstances are identical so there is little point in me trying first direct. I will go trading standards route and will send my brother who lives up there to bang on his door.
