For those of us who have received the galaxy and retro sweets today (and I suspect many others will tomorrow/Monday), it seems that the option is either to add to/replace items for Christmas and hope for the best for the other 11 hampers, or still stick to cancellation and refund requests due to breach of terms and conditions, and hope that PayPal claim works out (and have to buy replacement gifts this weekend). What are people's thoughts on these options? What do you intend to do?

My circumstances are identical so there is little point in me trying first direct. I will go trading standards route and will send my brother who lives up there to bang on his door.

I did a one off hamper "deal" through Paypal but luckily most of the payment was on a credit card.

this would work out at approx £4.58 per hamper, there is no way they can do a hamper for that, the postage alone would be more than that

maybe they have done a major boob... and instead of just cancelling and refunding everyone, they are just digging themselves deeper and deeper in the poo..

do they advertise in any magazines?

do they do hampers for maybe a high street store? and are honouring them first?

    I didnt order any hampers...

but i am still very annoyed how they are operating their business

its hard enough to tyr and get people to support local/independant businesses as it is.and when this happens it really does leave a bad bad mark for independants.

You had to have seen his offers. They were things like "who wants to buy 5 hampers from this collection and get another five free? Only 10 available." Trouble is, he kept offering the deal to everyone who ordered. Even after all this I still don't think he deliberately set out to steal from or con people. He just has the business sense of a stuffed monkey.

I have now had a reply from the company who run the Ideal Home Show. They say they take this very seriously and they will do all they can to help with contact details etc for the company. Doesn't sound as if it will help much, however the primary aim of contacting them was to make them think twice about allowing this company to exhibit at one of their shows in the future. I just wonder how many people signed up to hamper deals at the show, which ran five days last month.

agree with you, contact places where they advertise and exhibit at, just to let them know how the hamper company is doing with forfilling their orders;)

as obviously they have a reputation to keep up

  • Well after a shirty email to him yesterday with a prompt reply from Neil. My hampers 3x3 turned up today with less products than advertised, and the chutney jars smashed in the add cheese ones so hopefully can fish out them and all the glass, clean it up buy some cellophane and buy chutney and replace them!
Still waiting on a friends order...... Hate this company! Caused nothing but stress & heartache
  • Won't have been cheap to have had a stand at the Ideal Home exhibition.
I wonder if he has given priority to people who bought deals there or if he is treating everybody equally (in a bad way)?

    Nothing received here today.
Have put the Just Add Cheese basket I received away & will not open it as I want as evidence that I received this instead of the Christmas themed hamper from the 12 hamper deal.

Thanks to everybody who has posted about Paypal, Trading Standards & contacting the local paer for Neil's area.

I'm going to go down the Paypal route first thing tomorrow.

But you have to ask yourself if he has run a hamper business for 7 years previous [ as stated on hes web site] how could he get it so wrong.I think he was telling porkys .

I would take a pic, and send it to him, and also make a list of what was advertised in the hamper, and what is missing, if they have a line in their t&c's saying if something is out of stock, they can sub with something else, fine, but if htey advertise 10 items in the hamper, then ten items should be in there

and ask him to send a replacement jar of chutney.

he isnt forfilling his contract by sending the items within the hamper that you have paid for. plus they should be well packed so not to get damaged.

please dont roll over, and re-do the hamper...

  • Back from school run!

Lucy was from the The Great Yarmouth Mercury and similar to the other poster who had contact she just wanted to hear about my orders and my circumstances.

Was great venting to her as I think my husband is fed up of hearing me go on (:o).

She said they were going to run a story and asked if I minded my details/comments being included.
