i made a claim in april 2007 and it has been frozen pending the test case results, since then I have recieved further charges of another couple of hundred!!!
can i add them on??
also, we are in financial difficulty since my son was born disabled in march, i was made redundant and my husband had a lot of time off work, we are currently using cccs for a DMPApril 2013 - £25771.75. DFD October 2022!
April 2014 - £18146.35. DFD June 2020!0 -
Contact your bank again and ask for the claim to be reassesed under the new financial difficulties criteria.
Sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time of it.0 -
Hi everyone,
Just a quickie... Nearly two years I began an iva with my partner which we are dealing with quite nicely.
I am currently chasing my old bank for charges dating back six years.
I wondered if it was possible/ethical to begin to chase for credit charges for the past six years even though the cc debts are included in the iva?
As the cc companies agreed to the iva would this get their back up if I was to claim and could they pull out of the iva agreement?
Many thanks for your help0 -
As posted above any monies reclaimed will be put towards any debt held by the bank which of course will reduce the debt owed so all to the good.0

My partner and I have a DMP so she asked Halifax for over 1k in charges back.
They have agreed but only £900 and only if we pay any credit card and loans first.
We have 14 days to accept.
As Halifax are adding £60 per month in charges to my wifes credit card (£2400) even though its on a DMP I feel agreived at this offer as its just going to pay for their other charges.
We have asked them to freeze the interest charges on the credit card, but they won't.
I can understand them trying to reduce the debt, but as they have been adding £60 per month, they are ahrdly trying to reduce it are they?
Am I seeing this right, that we may as well decline the offer as we aren't actually going to get any actual money out of it.0 -
Phone customer relations and tell them you want the full amount claimed. I would also speak to them about freezing interest. If that doesn't work then write to them or ask your DMP provider - I take it its CCCS or Payplan to write to them.0

i have asked halfax to look at our case coz of our financial circumstances IF they agree, will they settle by check or pay it into our halifax acct - which is now part of a dmp???
also, if they dont settle what can i do then?April 2013 - £25771.75. DFD October 2022!
April 2014 - £18146.35. DFD June 2020!0 -
Please advise - a number of financial and employment issues have been encountered by my husband and myself. We have initiated an IVA, but are experiencing serious financial difficulty. If I apply to reclaim under the hardship rule is it worth it as the bank I am trying to reclaim charges from is one that I owe some money to?0

They pay their charges into an account held with them so in your case it will go to the debt within the DMP.0
