Its not silly pencakes, I know how you feel. Think of this job you're in as:-
a) experience
b) something to pay bills and debt with
c) something to fund little treats with
what is it you don't like about it? If you don't mind me askingCC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Thanks
I know those points are very valid and I definitely dont want to seem like I'm whinging - I am very lucky to have a job at all.
I suppose the thing that makes me sad is I dont really like my career choice (Im a PA) and I'm annoyed at myself for getting in this position. The debt stops me from quitting and thinking about what I really want from life too. Also, Ive left a job where I worked with friends everyday to somewhere where no one talks to anyone. Its all very corporate and that just isnt me....For now Im just trying to concentrate on the extra £140 a month Im getting and what I could do once my debt is paid off (go to college etc)
I guess Im quite lonely (outside of work) and the lack of stuff do/people to talk to at this place just makes it seem worse.Total: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom0 -
Ive re-done my SOA if anyone has any suggestions...
My rent also includes most bills which is why they arent shown seperately. The clothes shopping can disappear, and the food shopping is a guestimate.
I dont want to cut back too much on entertainment - Im a single 26 year living in London so I need some fun
I dont have a car either..

I hear ya! It's not great, huh?! I've done the same thing. Miss my friends from before too. But it's a job. It's paying the bills. And I'm not in debt but concentrating on saving as much as I can. Also doing my Business Admin Apprenticeship through work (free!) so making the most of my time hereI guess Im quite lonely (outside of work) and the lack of stuff do/people to talk to at this place just makes it seem worse.
Hello again!! I've moved in with my partner and kids which is great, but I'm away from my friends. Plus I sold my car. I don't have the same freedom etc etc, but haven't managed to make 'new' friends in this area. Plus the fact business/personal stays separate.
I started zumba a while back, and found it was a bit of a social thing for me, on top of the fitness aspect. Is there something like that you could do maybe once a week?Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Hey pencakes  I've awol from MSE lately but thought I should catch up.
Well done on trying to get back into it again, and well done on the job. I can completely sympathise with your situation. I started my new job in the middle of October, it came completely out of the blue but the money is fantastic I would have been a fool to turn it down (it cuts down my DFD by years!!) BUT it's not what I want to do, it does really just pay the bills. But I think in our current climate I'm just lucky to have a job so I shouldn't moan!!
Now I've found you again I will be following with interest. Chin up girl! xx0 -
Hi Becks81!! :wave:I'm glad you're back and I'm glad you found me
I will have a sneaky peak at your diary when I get the chance!
After last week's moans I am trying to be more positive about my job, I defnitely cant complain and I can try and turn it around. Its a good company so even if it doesnt work out here, it looks good on my CV so I promise I wont grumble anymore!
Typically, now Ive got my head around the work situation, the man situation is puzzling me. It could be me being silly but more on that later...
Anyway, 15 days until payday and Im already in my overdraft. These past couple of months have hit my finances hard. Break ups, moving house (twice) and a new job have left me struggling! Thank god I had some savings (for the first time in my life), without that, I really dont know how I would have made it this far!
My calendar tells me we've only got 48 days left this year. I can't quite believe it! But I am feeling postive...2013 is going to be the year I get DF! :j:jTotal: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom0 -
Tuesdays are the worst day of the week I think, even worse than Mondays!
At least it is nearly lunchtime...not that I have any money to buy lunch and I stupidly left my salad in the fridge at home! Durr!
I'm desperately counting down the days till payday, I'm running dangerously low on money for the first time in monthsAt least I have made sure my DDs have been paid so no missed payments or late charges. Its not really my fault either, just a change in jobs and paydays.. but still its not a nice feeling.
I'm meeting the ex tonight. I have a feeling its going to be pretty emotional. At least its in a public place so the tears can be kept to a minimum.. She says... _pale_Total: £50,676 £0 🥳 The journey to debt freedom0 -

Stay strong Pencakes. As for your lunch, are you friendly with anyone that could lend you money to get some soup etc for your lunch? I can't do it here (as we don't get our own desks) but in my last place I used to keep cupasoups in my desk drawer (One was always left out as an emergency for any of my team in case I was away and my desk was locked).CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera.
