Starting afresh- Pencakes DFD v2!

To all who followed my last thread, I'm back! To any new followers, hello and welcome!

Word of warning, there will be a lot of random musings from this DFW with hints of F1 and Jenson Button loving!

After a very stressful and emotional few months, I feel like its time to get my head back into gear and focus on shifting that debt.

As some of you know I was having a horrible time at work, relationship issues and just generally feeling pretty unhappy with life. Well things certainly have changed. I quit my old job, I split up with the OH and moved out. All in the space of about 3 weeks which gave my heart a little bit of extra work! My friends always say I dont do things by halves!

To cut an already long post short, I have a new job :j (I start on Monday) and trying to get my life back together. I have to be honest, its been a horrible couple of months, but I finally think I'm coming out the other side :)

Which brings be back to MSE to help my focus on my debt so not only can I get my relationships and career back on track, but my finances too! And I suppose the benefit of being single is that I have complete control over my spending and I can try and rack up those NSDs like they are going out of fashion!

Hi Pencakes, I haven't read your first diary but like you I'm onto part 2 of my diary and I had some major bumps in the road along the way (redundancy twice). I look forward to reading your diary.

  • Hi unixgirluk! thanks for reading :)

I will have a little sneaky look at your diary too and hopefully we will both succeed the second time round :)

I really hope so Pencakes. My debt is a bit bigger than yours but I'm hoping I can't beat it into submission! :D

  • Hello pencakes26. Haven't read your other diary but figured I'd join in with this one if that's ok!

You have had rough few months, but it's good to hear you've come out the other side. Stronger, hopefully wiser and soon to be richer too! :D

    Subscribing!! :)

  • Hi everyone, hi HeadAboveWater thanks for subscribing! Hears to being stronger and wiser!

I met up with my old work mates for a pub quiz last night and had a great time, but stupidly missed the last train home and had to get a cab home which cost me nearly £30 :( Now I live further out I have to be much more careful about making sure I get that train.

I'm feeling very poor now and payday is a long way away :(

Thankfully I have just been told that I'm getting my deposit from my old flat back soon which couldn't be better timing! I've also sold some stuff on ebay, and sent my old ipod to Asd@ Tech Trade In (def the best place to recycle old phones and stuff, the prices are much higher than the others I've seen) so I'm feeling much better about things.

I just want to get back in to the swing of working (I'm in my second week of jobless boredom) so I can have a normal wage coming through and I can do some proper budget planning.

In other news, Im trying desperately not to put the heating on so I'm wearing a pair of leggings, trackie bottoms, two jumpers, ski socks, slippers and Im wrapped in my fleecy blanket... I will not give in!:rotfl:

Aww Pencakes, hugs,:grouphug:. I'm sure you will find something soon.

I've not heard of Asda Tech Trade...... must look them up. What kind of work is it you're looking for? I know when I was looking I was looking also at short term work locally just to be doing something. Don't beat yourself up about the taxi, yes its a lot of money but better you get home safe.

  • I have a job to go to, thankfully, but my start date keeps getting pushed back which is worrying me to be honest! :(

I would get a temp job if I had a confirmed start date. I hate this limbo!

It was lucky my friend was in the cab, it would have cost nearer to £60 if I was alone! Must get train home in future!

Im looking at moving to a place down the road - sharing with another lady. It would save me about £200 a month!!! Hopefully it works out because that would really help reduce that debt!:A
