  • I'm feeling really positive at the moment and it's partly thanks to you lot on this forum! I feel like I have a plan again and even though I am still quite stressed, I'm dealing with it :)

Next year is going to be much better, I know it.

  • I didn't have to buy any wrapping paper or cards either coz I had plenty left over from last year. THis Christmas really hasn't cost me alot and I feel I really deserve a drink. Don;t know what next year will bring since I will have gotten rid of any excess stuff by then. I'll just enjoy the moment.

I know I harp on ,but get down to your local charity shop lots of goodies will be handed in ,a lot will get put away for mothers day but some will go stright onto the shelves.
Supermarkets for reduced cards and wrap inbetween xmas & new year if you can.
Or why not make your own cards DD & I will begin in Jan we might have enough by Dec:rotfl: :rotfl:

Squirrel - glad you're feeling positive and hope you find the lush voucher. That'll be a nnice gift that won't cost anything!

Mad- there's nothing wrong with your kids spending their money on gifts for you. Its good for them to see how to budget and to feel the pinch. Nobody gave you money for everything you bought forChristmas. They can spare £3.00 and they will feel proud for it I promise.

I also feel better for finding this forum. It has put a lot of things into perspective about what is really important and how much I have been ripped off in the past - no more.

  • Feeling quite Christmassy at the moment - watching Father Ted. Remember the first time this was shown - was late for Midnight Mass because I wanted to see the end!

Anyone for another drink? Its my turn to host Christmas this year (my sister and her family) so there will be 8 of us in total and they are bringing the turkey. OH will be helping me cook too!

I'll have another one - is it still my round or yours? Just a Fosters this time though - taking it easy :D

I love cooking but I could never do a proper Xmas dinner. The closest I've got is when my ex used to get M&S vouchers for his Xmas bonus and I managed to coordinate heating everything up so it all arrived on the plate at the same time :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

If someone wants Turkey Risotto for dinner however, I'm their girl :p

The first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter :(
