Hi,

Is this cookery thread?? or trip down memory lane??

Actually Dalip we always had egg&chips on Mondays too when I was at home ! funny how something triggers a memory!! & seemed to be a set menu every week...can`t ever remember having takeaways & the first time I ever had curry was when I was 17 & had left home!!

Oh the good old days!! (well the 70`s actually)

not stuffed hearts but had OX heart with gravy and veg (like a stew) also ox tails too. We also had boiled liver and sausages (i still have boiled sausage but with lamb chops not liver, missus turns her nose up and says it doesnt look cooked, but i love it.)

The only curry i had was those "vesta" boil in the bag rice,and dried curry that you just added water to.This is a bit of both angel,makes a change from"make mine a double".lol

go to the shop and get myself a tin,i was about 16 at the time. A few years back i was ill asked OH to get me some(beef and veg) after he actually believed i was serious he got some but it tasted nothing like i remembered it

OMG Vesta!!! I think thats what it was...my first curry was Vesta!! :eek: . Also some fried crispy chip/crisp things that came with it!

Put me off spicy food for years.....now I absolutely love curry (Chicken Tikka Jalfrazi that our local Indian takeaway does just how we like it!) Have to be careful re the waistline effects though!!..just workout at the gym a little more often.

Don`t get the heinz babyfood?? how could you eat that...no wonder my kids spat it out when they were babies...tasteless!!

Well there you go, no way i would a farley's and baby food was bland cause it had no salt,which is how it should be:D .

Have you seen the size of fish fingers(battered) lately either my eye sight is very poor or they have really shrunk:eek: . Trying to think of other tings we had when kids but my memeory is failing.lo
