I know everyone must be busy getting ready for Christmas but doesn't anyone make time for a drink and chat anymore? Think I'm in the mood for a festive Baileys please.

            Hi guys and gals.
I'm having a drink this evening cos I think I deserve it, but I'm taking it easy.
Have had an expensive few days but haven't bought anything not necessary and I've done it all with cash! Have even managed to get round to ordering a new driving licence online (£22!!!!) after my old one got nicked with my bag about 6 months ago. Have got all but 2 Xmas pressies and that's because my Dad and his gf are away for Xmas so I'm leaving it until they get back.
Even though I have an actual Red Stripe in my hand, I will join fyp in a Baileys - why not!
Would you like ice with yours? All comments made and advice given are my own opinions and do not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.

In a way. I miss them but Xmas is always full of emotions running high so we will have some arguments too.
DD is getting a pillowcase at the end of her bed tomorrow night. She has got so many little bits and pieces from people, its the only way to prevent us being sat watching her open presents for 5 hours!
My sisters and I used to love going to sleep with the empty pillowcase and waking up at 5am to find it full of presents...
It's been fun this year. Everyone has had a £15 limit put on them (apart from DD and my Mum) so its forced people to think of what they REALLY want. All comments made and advice given are my own opinions and do not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.

Yes, ice please. Who knows you may get an unwanted gift that your dad's gf would just love. I've had a couple of presents from friends that I have re-wrapped. Also, I bought my mother something for mother's day. I bought it early and when Mother's Day arrived I couldn't find it so had to get her something else. I found the first present and it went in to work for my secret santa gift. I've also come across 3 bath sets that will be re-wrapped and given to someone else. They are quite nice ones and obviously if I haven't used them since last Christmas I don't really need them!

My Dad's gf is into candles and smelly stuff - I know that somewhere in a box I have a Lush voucher from my ex's parents for my birthday that I never used but can't find it
Might check out Boots next week - they'll have loads of stuff even cheaper than usual. All comments made and advice given are my own opinions and do not represent the views or advice of any debt advice organisation.

I didn't have to buy any wrapping paper or cards either coz I had plenty left over from last year. THis Christmas really hasn't cost me alot and I feel I really deserve a drink. Don;t know what next year will bring since I will have gotten rid of any excess stuff by then. I'll just enjoy the moment.

Only have a sister and her family left now but know what you mean:rolleyes: good job we love each other:D
Think its a brilliant idea to have a fixed amount for pressies, you get a great deal more original gifts that way.My kids had to buy their gifts for us themselves this year (yes I know back to the bad mother forum:o ) 5.00 but with a bit of care and shopping around managed to spend about 3.00 on each of us.
I didnt bother buying any chocolate , bikkies or wine cos we got lots given OHs customers, they got home made cakes in return. So saved a bit there:ASome of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j0
