Just got off the phone from customer services - they will not give me the 25% off as even though I ordered when the offer was on, apparently there is small print that says offers are only applied on the day of delivery? Therefore as I got delivery today (first available slot) I don't get the offer.
Not happy at all. First order with Sainsbury's and will be my last.early retirement wannabe0 -
Order came missing the champagne (I specified no substitutions) but the £10 voucher still came off so £30 of other stuff for £20. Not bad. Delivery driver said that pretty much every order tonight has had the same problem of missing booze and it's caused loads of problems.0

Just received my refund notification. And they've still charged me for delivery. Even though i refused delivery of what was twice the price of my original order. This deal is an absolute con.0

Went into Sainsbury this morning and surprise, surprise, hundreds of bottles of the said champagne on the shelves. Such poor customer service from Sainsbury :mad:0

Got my six bottles for £46.95 incl delivery so just £7.825 per bottle. I will enjoy it at that price!0

Just went to sainsbury's to get the weekly shop, noticed they had hundreds of bottles of the antoine champers on the shelves, even though there was none in stock yesterday. I spoke with their in-store online manager, who to apologise for them sending the wrong (more expensive) champagne, gave me a free £15 gift card.0

Ordered 12 bottles last week for delivery today. No discount (not even 5%). Van driver eventually managed to phone someone and told me delivery had to be before Sunday to qualify. So the discount of £36 had evaporated and I sent the champers back.
Very disappopinting!0 -
Having complained to the delivery guy that I'd been charged for 8 carrier bags which I didn't want and didn't receive anyway, I rang customer services and was told that as it was compulsary to charge for carrier bags in Wales everyone was charged a nominal amount even if they didn't want them, and if the shopping didn't need all the bags they weren't used!
As a fellow Welshman (north not south) I did a bit of digging as I'd also been charged the 40p carrier bag charge. It is quite clear on the help pages that a blanket 40p charge applies to any address with a Welsh postcode. Of course it's not compulsory (the 40p charge - of course we know we have to pay 5p per non-reusable carrier bag), it's something that Sainsbury have elected to blanket charge.
Here's an extract from the Sainsbury help page:
"Carrier bag charge
Who is affected?
Any grocery delivery to an address with a Welsh postcode will incur a carrier bag charge.
Why is Sainsbury’s introducing this?
The carrier bag charge has been introduced by the Welsh Government and is in place across the whole of Wales. The law states that all shops in Wales must charge at least 5p for each single use carrier bag from 1 October 2011. This is not a Sainsbury’s initiative.
What is a single use carrier bag?
A single use carrier bag can be made from plastic, paper or plant-based material such as starch. These bags are not designed to be used time and time again.
How much is the charge?
A flat fee of 40p will be charged for each online grocery order.
How will the charge be applied to customer’s shopping?
The charge will be added to your basket as soon as you've booked your delivery slot and will appear in your trolley when you check out."
I really don't remember seeing it at check-out, first time I saw it was on my receipt. But as they say it's applied at checkout then presumably it's a blanket charge as they don't know how many carrier bags will be required for a particular shop. On some they'll gain and on others lose.0 -
Re Sainsbury's champagne offer - I have just written to Sainsbury's complaining that the 25% discount for 6 bottles which should have been applied to my bill at delivery was in fact just 5%. They claim that some obscure small print on the web site stated that delivery had to be before 28th Oct. I certainly didn't see it and the fact that the discount wasn't applied at the time of ordering convinces me that this is a deliberate ploy to mislead shoppers. Dodgy dealers or what???0

Exactly my point. At no time did I see anything clearly stated that I would not get the offer due to delivery being after the expiry of the offer.
It may be 'technically' correct and included in some obscure small point, but that doesn't make it right.
And by the amount of people who did receive their champagne on Monday and who did get the 25% off, its an arbitrary decision.
Make your mind up Sainsburys either everyone gets 25% off for Monday delivery or no one.early retirement wannabe0
