Mint have refused to stop interest accruing on my account - even though I'm on a DMP. Gits.

I have posted this before but on another thread but it is still something that baffles me. Basically it seems to me that people seem to get differently treated by creditors.

On this site I have read about people who are more in debt than me and have been able to do DMP's via CCCS etc.

CCCS and Payplan turned me down on the basis of thier figures eg. £36 a month for haircuts, £480 for shopping. When I don't spend that at all.

I have read about people in more debt than me having payments of £5 a month or less accepted by creditors.

I have offered my creditors £10 a month and HSBC, Abbey and Mint have all since declined this offer - I sent them all an SOA so they know the score.

I don't understand why it's different for people. Does it depend on who answers the phone/ letters and if they are having a bad day or not?

    Hi OT,
Sounds like you've been having a bad time recently, all I can say is try,try and try again,I think it does depend on who answers the phone with creditors, but with CCCS and Payplan,I don't think that would be the case. Why don't you write realistic figures of what YOU spend each month on food, haircuts etc and then give them another call.I know that Payplan do not give you figures, they ask you what you pay,so why they would refuse? I don't know, although they do need £100/month disposable income for a DMP.CCCS do not have a minimum.
    Good luck

    Approx £66k..... *gulp*

I have to say that finding this forum and realising that there are others who owe similar or greater amounts has been a great source of comfort to me. It's so easy to feel like you're the only person in this position.

Thanks for your message - I did find it very disheartening speaking to Payplan & CCCS. I found Myvesta very helpful - and was immediately suspious as I couldn't understand why they would help me when others wouldn't!

Although I did start a dmp with them in April and all seems to be well so far
