Who do TCP think they are?!!!!

I got a parking charge notice on the 1st of October

Wrote a letter advising why i wouldn't be paying and got a letter today saying they had noted my points and have canceled the invoice!!

I mean what the frig is that all about?

They have really put a spanner in the works in my plan to test out the new popla service

I don't want to say I told you so, but I did suggest some time ago that we'd see more PPCs accepting appeals after 01/10.

    Two possibilities:

    a) They don't want to pay the POPLA fee

    or

    b) They've been reading threads on here, and don't want to be a test case.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

They are being perfectly logical. I have predicted this several times!

You told them you're not paying, and showed them that you understand the legal situation, so they're cutting their losses and not wasting the £27 POPLA fee on you.

You should've just told them that you thought the charge was unfair or something equally feeble, and certainly should've refrained from mentioning that you had no intention of paying.

Can you get another one? If they have accepted your 'appeal' once, they've set themselves a precedent.

TCP are one of the feeblest PPCs and stick to their business model religiously.

Could there be secret option C - they know who you are or it was obvious from your appeal that you knew what you were doing.

Try acting dumb and appealing on the grounds that it was a Wednesday and you had run out of Peacock food or something, see what happens there.*

*jest (I'd never run out of peacock food)
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

Surely the OP will need to use a different car as they now have the registration plate number of someone they not to chase.

They may also trade such numbers between themselves.

You mean a PPC may give to another a register's keepers name and address they have gotten from the DVLA? Would that be lawful? Also, if one gets a 'fake PCN' from a PPC does it state they got your name and address from the DVLA and a reference so that one could check they did, and not from another PPC's (illegal)'data base'?

    Not quite,

PPC1 puts out a notice to any other PPC that it's a waste of time chasing up any notice issued
to car "AB 12 XYZ" as the driver is too smart to fall for our scam.
