Hi,
I had a ticket yesterday for "not parking within the markings of the bay or space". This is a double space and the car in front was encroached on my space and so my car was stuck out a bit. Now, I want to contact them to tell them I won't be paying the invoice. What should I say? What should I not say? Should I go through their website process under appeal or should I email them or only write to them?
Thanks0 -
Depends if you want to cause the PPC trouble and expense or not.
If you want a quiet life, just ignore it, and all further correspondence.
It you want mischief, then appeal to them. When (not if) they reject the appeal, then you appeal to POPLA, which'll cost the PPC £27+VAT. If/when that appeal is rejected, just ignore them form then on.
BYW, which PPC is it? Does the ticket talk about POFA, POPLA, etc? What is the exact wording of the ticket (post it here if possible, scrubbed of your car reg and any other identifiable details).0 -
hi,
thanks for the reply.
its UK parking control.
There's no mention of popla, and as far as I can see no difference in the invoice than those received before 1st October.
with the change to popla, is it still recommended to just ignore?
thanks again0 -
ah, it does say the following:
if UK parking control decline your appeal then you will have the option to have your appeal heard by popla, an independent adjudicator. Details of this will be forwarded to you in the event that your appeal with UkPc is declined.
so, is it still ok to ignore or should I appeal to ukpc, then popla, then ignore.
or just go on the ukpc website, give them details and tell them I'm not paying?
which way is best now?
thanks0 -
Depends on whether you want to play games with them. If so, appeal to UKPC, then POPLA, and then ignore.
Otherwise, just ignore.
Absolutely no point in contacting UKPC unless you want to drag them to POPLA and cost them £27+VAT.Je suis Charlie.0 -
