We did a top-up for our 9 with Asda Tiger this week (44p/tin) and they wolfed it down just as ravenously as they do Felix in jelly (46p/tin from Costco). They won't eat anything in gravy.

Agreed, our 2 (2yo & 4mo) are on just less than a pack a day with Applaws dried in addition. The difference in the older cat's coat condition is amazing: she was on Felix/Whiskas at the CPL and her fur was sort of hard & wiry. Now it's very soft & smooth.

If you do go with Bozita, then remember TopCashBack offer a 5% cashback on Zooplus orders.

Many people report improved condition with high meat/ low grain foods. Lulu's coat is lovely and the cattery noted how alert and playful she is, but she is quite young so I'd expect that. With Noah the vet commented how well muscled/ good condition he was on the day he had to be PTS with cancer :( which, for an indoor ex stray who had previously had an appalling coat condition, infected paws and thin as a rake was impressive. None of the other cats I know well are in as good shape as these two, all have fairly high cereal dry foods. Anecdotal 'evidence' only obviously.

Do you really feed your cats on the work surface? That is one place my cat is not allowed to go.
  • Quidco also do 5% cashback on Zooplus orders, and they give 5% off orders over £75 anyway (and free delivery for orders over £19). They often have special offers and last time I worked it out Bozita was about the same price per meal as pouches, although still more expensive than Butchers. I get the tetrapaks now since on special they are the same or cheaper than cans, and my mog is slightly less messy when eating stuff that's already in chunks. Bozita seems to be generally the cheapest grain-free on Zooplus, although Animonda Carny on offer occasionally seems to work out the same.

Mine will happily eat just about anything lol... I found the meat Butchers was OK, but the fish ones smelled so bad I couldn't stand having it around and the rest of it went to the shelter!

YOu sure? Bet he/she does when you not looking ;)

Yes, I do - dog is on a diet and have to feed the cats high up....

Besides - I use boards/plates and do not prepare any food directly on worktops, do you?

Oh, she goes up there all right ... have seen the evidence when things have been moved down off the worktops, and the occasional paw print. But we try not to encourage it by leaving anything out to attract her up (though sometimes I do fail). And when we are in jumping up on worktop or table is a definite no.

I know some people do allow cats up onto worktops, but I do find it strange if a cat is freely allowed to jump up without being admonished. I don't recall ever seeing cats fed on the worktops. But I do take your point that I take the same precautions that you do, as I know that my cat goes up there anyway. So really it isn't any different, so don't know why it feels so wrong to me.

A frind of mine at work got 7 (yes, sevena) cats and he was always saying that his never go on worktops as they were "not allowed".

Asked him to sprinkle some flour onto worktops overnight or when he was off to work and.. count the cat footprints ;)

Yes, of course there was a few footprints :)

    Cats are cats.....

My dog loves cat food and she needs to lose some weight so have to guard the cat food myself and make sure she does not get to it. Cat dry food is on the kitchen window behind the sink and wet they get on the worktop with me standing over them making sure the dog does not get any

I hate to think my cats get on the worktop as I have ocd when it comes to cleaning, particularly kitchen and bathroom, but I know they do as there are sometimes muddy paw prints on there or things are slightly moved.

There is no door on the kitchen as the room is too small really so I can't keep them out if I am not there or at night. If I am there I would shout at them.

One of the cats, an oriental, sometimes wees on the worktop which really stresses me but I am always cleaning them and only ever prepare food on boards.

Which supermarkets sell Bozita please? And how much does it cost?

You have to purchase Bozita online, it's <£1 for a 380g tetrapack so equivalent to 25p a pouch, but the pate and in gravy are more solid than any pouch so you feed less. Zooplus was the cheapest last time I checked, but they aren't always so it's worth Googling.

Goes down well with most cats and is great value being high meat, but not own brand or supermarket so didn't mention it earlier.

You can get Bozita in the supermarket, though it's in disguise! Top Life do a chicken in jelly Tetrapak which is exactly the same as Bozita, made by the same people with the same ingredients, just a different name on the pack! It's worth buying from there before getting an online order as obviously you can buy just one to see if your cats like it:
