    Hi all!

I have sent off the letter to Abbey saying that they have 7 days to pay up or i'm taking them to court.
Have not heard a thing from them!
Although after reading some threads on here i thought i would ring and check my account balance which has been overdrawn by £436.60 for ages.
They told me that the balance was at £0, so it looks like they have made a part payment which isnt good enough because i am claiming approx £2500 excluding interest (£2700 with interest!)
My question is, they havent sent any letter saying that they have made a payment as a gesture of goodwill to my claim so i'm not sure what to do next. Do i write the letter saying i accept that amount as a part payment automatically but still want to claim the rest? Or should i wait and see if they send me a letter? Their seven days were up on the 7th March.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on the date of the refund to the account you may want to give them a few days for a letter confirming it to be received by you, allowing the weekends post. If none turns up then yes, you can always write and advise that you have noted an amount placed in the account and advise it will be accepted without prejudice as partial payment and you intend to reclaim the full amount and crack on as before. Up to now there is nothing in writing from either you or them to say this amount is accepted as full settlement so dont worry.

Apparantley they put that payment into my account at the end of February, somrthing like the 28th if i remember correctly what the lady said on the phone!
So its time to ammend letter 6 and send it off! They have had enough time to respond, i just wasnt sure with not receiving a letter from them.

    cheers!

7 weeks ago? You should have sent the second letter long ago, followed by taking them to court! Don't give them that much leeway!

Pigpen Of the 15 Abbey cases reported in the success thread to date they have settled in full eventually, some very quickly, so stick to the schedule and do what Beate said :p
