If you look through the posts I think you'll find some posters on here have been extremely rude, insulting and arrogant! Don't lump me all with them, thank you.
By the way, I'm not sure if it was subliminal or not, but your 'apple and pear' comparison is very apt!!:T
My comment about being rude began...
'You are also now......'
It was a standalone reference to your previous posts, it wasn't in reference to your Fatima Whitbread thoughts.
People are trying to tell you that your impressions about certain things are wrong but instead of considering that, you have become defensive and are now attacking people for some reason.Herman - MP for all!

We must be one of the only societies in the history of mankind that has a huge group of people that is able to become vastly over weight through not working and have it blamed on poverty.
The other night I picked up 2 1/2LB some good quality sirloin that was just about to go out of date which was reduced in price and probably had more taste. I then filled a basket with veg and made a good beef stock, Mmmmm. Come home from a hard days graft and have a bowl of that with some nice crusty bread and it probably worked out less than £2 quid per serving.
Too be eating takeaways and processed meals when you do not work and have plenty of time shows a huge amount of laziness and lack of responsibilty.
You just stated that much of junk food is expensive (which I happen to agree on - in part) and that you youself can't afford it.
Then in the next breath you say unemployed people eat too many takeaways and processed food. So tell me how they can afford it?? Please?0 -

That's not what he said.
He said 'to be eating takeaways and processed meals......', not that they eat 'too many'.Herman - MP for all!

I am retaliating to some of the very offensive and insulting comments other people have posted.
I'm not going to be abused by some upstart and allow them to get off with it. If they want to dish it out they'll have to learn how to take it, too.
I didn't start this thread for some kind of cyber fight - I was intrigued to know how people can afford to eat vast quantities of food - whether they work or not. If people want to start a bun-fight there's not much I can do about that.....
Incidentally, we're all entitled to our own personal views. What makes you think you're right and I'm wrong?
Can you provide some kind of !!!!!! that an obese peson of 30 stone only eats aound 2000 calories a day?0 -

Yes of course we are, but calorie and how they affect the body (any body, not just a fat one) is a factual subject, so views should be based on fact.
You don't appear to be basing yours on fact which is why other posters are refuting what you say.
As for your last comment, you're just being silly.Herman - MP for all!

Some athletes eat 20,000 calories a day to gain weight; even though they are powerful strength and endurance athlete they still have a far lower life expectancy than others in their country.
