    Hi
Could any one tell me about the Goodmans GNAV20 Sat Nav please.

I got well slagged off when I posted this deal on HDUK :rolleyes2

Its nothing special and there's not a lot of info about it but for the price ya cant complain!

    Hi,

Are Tom Tom the best Sat Navs? I need one before I start my new job and was going to get a Tom Tom 510 unless anyone can make a better suggestion for me to invest in?

Also, where can I get the best price for one of these?

    Thanks!

Do ya know, I think your'e right. I raved about this unit myself when
I first got it about a year ago. I haven't used it a great deal but everything
you've said above rings true. It would be intresting to set two different sat nav's up in the same vehicle then choose the same destination for both, see
    what happens.!!!

done that, with the tom tom 1 classic and garmin i3, garmin gave me a direct route from london to brighton, must say the garmin was always looking for a sat so it was slow but it did give me the quickest route!

Ah yes the Google discount, good thinking...... I bought my one via that deal! Like I said it aint the most advanced satnav BUT updated maps are available from Goodmans at a very reasonable price! Apparentely a competitors software will also work with a simple software rework, this is unlikely to go out of date as the unit costs £1499 so Id imagine map updates will be available for sometime to come!!

Not sure what your requirements are, i'm guessing UK maps and bluetooth for your mobile.
A couple of alternatives that are cheaper and just as good are the Garmin NUVI 310 £159, and MIO C510e £150(Asda), both neater than the Tomtom 510.

Does anyone know how to update the Garmin i3.

I have an STPi3. It keeps telling me to update it. I've registered it on the Garmin website and managed to get as far getting a 15-digit update code. But I can't work out what to do next. I've fiddled with the website, looked at the forum, and even emailed Garmin, but the responses still don't get me anywhere.

I need a simple, step-by-step guide. If anyone out there can do that for me, I'd be grateful.

Apart from that, I think it's wonderful.

You can only get a map update (for free) if you bought the i3 after August 2006. You go to the Garmin website and register your unit. Then you go to the map upgrade part of the site and input your unlock code (found on the yellow slip in the box). They are supposed to send it out within 10 days but I have been waiting 6 weeks!!!! They ignore e-mails so it's best you call them apparently. If your i3 was bought before August 2006 then you can only pay for a map upgrade.

My daughter lost a tomtom one v1 in a burglary after christmas and we are looking into a replacement. She liked the tomtom one though but reading this thread do you think she should get a tom tom one v2 or would she be better off with one of the other kind?
    Thanx
